2017 SUNY Downstate Accelerated BSN

Published

Hi all,

I know it's early in the process, but thought this could be a thread going forward for people who know they will be applying to the SUNY Downstate Accelerated BSN program for summer 2017.

I only have one pre-req left, Chemistry, which I'm going to try and take online at BMCC this fall. I was also going to try and take a BMCC Pharmacology class, but saw on another thread that it might not be transferable. If anyone has thoughts on these classes, or has taken the TEAS yet, I'd love to hear from you!

Hello

I also plan to apply to Downstate. Have not registered for teas v but hoping to do so no later than September. I want my application in as early as possible

I'm with you. Just an FYI the Teas is changing formats after August 31st. Don't know if it will be easier or harder or what, but it will be a new test so make sure you get the right book (if you buy one).

I submitted my application for Downstate but they stated review of my application is incomplete until I take the TEAS exam (I am taking mid September). I bought a book on amazon for the new test and will also use that along with my HESI study guide to prepare since both exams have similar formats, although I read that the TEAS is harder than HESI for some reason (I took HESI earlier this year for Lehman College). I am also registered for a pharmacology course through Cayuga Community which I hope I can transfer it in. I will take pathophysiology next Spring through another SUNY college if not available through Cayuga.

Hey guys. I am also planning to apply to downstate along with college of new rochelles harlem campus. I am taking my last 3 preReqs right now. So hopefully things work out for all of us :)

Hi!

I found out today that I have been accepted into the Suny Downstate accelerated nursing program for the summer of 2017. I thought I would reach out and see who else is attending. I know it is early but I was so relieved and excited to hear back!

I was also accepted! Haven't really seen or heard from anyone else. I wonder if a smaller group applied this year?

I got a decision 3 days ago and I got accepted as well (l posted in other downstate thread). I plan on attending but have to get things in order. Seems like they are sending out decisions now that deadline has past. So happy to hear from them because it was torture waiting so long!

Hey guys, congrats to some of you who got accepted! :cat: Wish I could say the same but I completed my application a few days before the deadline. I wonder how long I have to wait to get my decision. I also noticed the deadline has been pushed to December 31st, anyone know why?

@motherclucking I was told that just over 400 people applied. I'm not sure how that compares to how many applicants there were in recent years. Does anyone know how many spots there are?

Also, there is another thread that is slightly more active than this one! https://allnurses.com/online-nursing-schools/suny-downstate-absn-1072903.html

Congratulations! When did you apply motherclucking ? Trying to figure out if I will hear soon. My application was sent in at the end of October
