Hey Everyone!
I figured I should start a new thread for the upcoming round of decisions. How are you all feeling? What are your backgrounds? Have you applied to other schools? My application is in the review progress, so my fingers are crossed and hopes are high!
Looking forward to the conversation :)

I believe Brooklyn College has 15 seats available if u complete their pre-health profession program. I could be wrong, but in order to take advantage of their agreement with downstate, the student has to submit all necessary docs and apply to downstate through the prehealth department.... that's what I got from their handbook, but I may have read it wrong cuz it doesn't apply to me... didn't pay much attention to it...
I received my acceptance email on 3/6 and was told I'd get my acceptance packet mailed overnight via UPS and should get it within a week... So I've been stalking my mail everyday since then but still no packet. I live in Manhattan so I'm not sure what the hold up is and it's a little silly to worry so early... But I hope it didn't get lost. Anyone else still waiting for their packet?
@mary0726: I heard from them on the same day and still haven't received my acceptance packet either (and I live in Brooklyn!) Out of curiosity, I called Admissions yesterday and was informed they haven't even sent out the packet yet. Maybe they do it in batches? I know the group that received their acceptance emails two weeks ago didn't receive the packet till Thursday-Friday of last week.
You have to complete a summer enrichment program with downstate for the Brooklyn College agreement. They don't tell you that in the handbook, which is kind of messed up. Although i got accepted, and i graduated from BC, the health advisor believed that i got in on my own accord. He had little luck reaching downstate regarding whether i would receive a seat, as i did not do the summer enrichment. I suggest anyone who goes to Brooklyn College, to go speak with the advisors. Hope that helps a bit
Oh no, I didn't do the summer enrichment either. Maybe that's why I haven't heard back from them yet. Damn... I'm worried. Did you speak to dr. ******? My grades aren't as good as yours were, but my status did change to file returned to committee last Monday. I haven't gotten any word yet. Did this mean I got rejected?

I applied on February 6th. I called February 5th and was told that none of the spots had yet been filled and was encouraged to fill out an application. My recommendations were submitted and everything in order on February 7th. My application still says "Screening in Process" and has yet to be reviewed by anyone. I called recently and was reassured that the applications are reviewed in the order they are sent in and I should not worry as they will definitely consider me and let me know in 4-5 weeks. The lowest grade I got on my pre-reqs was an A- and I'm a Brooklyn College graduate. I did well on the TEAS exam. So don't be discouraged yet, ladies and gents!
