SUNY Downstate Accelerated BSN Program 2014-2015

Hey Everyone!

I figured I should start a new thread for the upcoming round of decisions. How are you all feeling? What are your backgrounds? Have you applied to other schools? My application is in the review progress, so my fingers are crossed and hopes are high!

I just talked to them again (If I'm not accepted at least my name will live on in infamy), and they said that they're going to send out the next round next week.

Congrats to those of you who got accepted! I hope there are more than two rounds. Mine is still in the screening process! I don't want to be overlooked and all the spots to fill. I am so nervous.

The checklist surprisingly remained the same - I expected it to change before I heard anythign! However, my application front page status changed to "

Hi cherryhead... they haven't contacted me requesting for additional information... although I received 2 emails saying that additional documents I sent was uploaded into my application but I don't see any of it being there... I guess hearing nothing would be a good thing right now..cuz it's either you get a yes or a no right now... :-|

I didn't hear anything either. Thank god I got into the UCONN accelerated program, which was my (soft) first choice However, had I been accepted to Downstate, I would have had a difficult time making a final choice between the two, as I have heard a ton of great things about the program. Regardless, rejection is disappointing, especially after the majority of schools I wanted to apply to told me to not even bother after they learned what my undergrad GPA was.

I know this is picky and specific, but did they say they were sending them out next week Monday or next week Wednesday? And don't worry, I have called several times myself, so I'm sure they expect it :)

They said they were having a meeting next Monday, and then would "send out another round of letters" but that was the most I could get

Thanks! That does help my itchy brain. I wonder how many were accepted so far. How are you feeling so far?

I fluctuate. I see no reason why I shouldn't get in, because I have a 3.9 science gpa, have worked as a hospital and hospice aide for years, and have good test scores. But at the same time, It's pretty selective, and I haven't heard yet so I'm just totally neurotic about the whole thing.
