I've started this thread so we can discuss and share our experiences applying to SUNY's ABSN program for 2021. Being that the application period just opened, I’m sure we can all benefit from sharing information in regards to the process.

Hey guys so I know I’m late but I’ll be receiving my BS this Dec which gave me an idea to apply to this program since I’ve done all my prerequisites. However I still didn’t take the TEAS exam. Is it possible to submit my application before taking the exam? Also I plan to take the exam sometime before Jan 2021 ends. I’m not sure if that’s too late. Any information helps. Thanks.

Can we take the TEAS with any school and just forward the results? Or it had to be done though SUNY downstate. How does that work?

I took the TEAS remotely through the ATI website and sent the scores to Downstate. During the info session, they mentioned that you can submit without putting your TEAS score down but your application won’t be reviewed until they get your scores. 

 

Also, has anyone gotten a call for interviews yet? I know December just started but I’m just curious LOL

I haven’t heard anything! I looked back on last year’s thread and it seemed like people started to hear back the first and second weeks of December, so hopefully it’ll be soon!

I wish I can take it sooner but I’m finishing up my BS so I can apply to the ABSN so they still take applications up until Jan 31? Thats the deadline I saw on the website.

Oh sorry if I wasn’t being clear, I meant hearing back about interviews, not admissions decisions! 1/31 is the application deadline so I think if you get the TEAS done before then you should be fine!

Currently taking my TEAS soon any advice for it? Im pretty sure mine are at a testing location.

Bi definitely recommend the secret to TEAS by mometrix and the app nursing school prep and paid 33 for like 3 months. Bunch of questions to study from. I also watched many videos from Youtube from khanacademy and others. Just search TEAS exam review. I also studied the areas I was the weakest in. I got 100 on math, 87 on reading and 89 in science. English I got 66 ( my weakest was this. Suck at grammar). I took the TEAS online at home. Maybe u can do that too?

Yes, that nursing school app is excellent! I was able to get the ATI study book secondhand and found the practice questions very helpful as well. I got a 90.7 overall, 96.9 in math, 89.4 in reading and science, 87.9 in English. Best of luck!

When is the last date to take the TEAS ATI exam? When I looked online it was only offered remotely and the last date was Jan 5. Anyone know of any later dates?

I joined a FB group called ATI TEAS 6 Study Group, it was really helpful. I got a 90 overall: 87 in reading, 93 in math, and 89 in science

On Downstate's website, the last date to take the TEAS is January 31st
