thanks for starting the thread... yes one month ahhh nervous and excited!! sooo are you going to start the facebook group?? then we can all put faces to names. Im all for it! you?? we have one month to get to know one another without the stress of fast paced nursing! at least in the mean time!! ttys ...ill be going to downstate tuesday morning/afternoon- financial aid office...if anyone else will be there let me know!

whats the story with getting uniforms and utility equipment packs (steth, light, etc)? we get these at orientation (6/3 i believe)?

anyone do online registration yet?

i ordered my uniform already..can u explain something to me??? we have to were the uniform to class?? no one in the bookstore knew where we wore it too..bc clinicals we wear scrubs..those uniforms look like a nursing outfit from ages ago lol. make sure u order it by may 13...june 1st orientation i thought is when they show us how to register..where else can we register?? i wasnt aware of that!

Anunic! we are supposed to register till May 6th. Haven't you received the email with the registration instructions? If not call student admissions office asap.

Hi Anunic, either way to connect is great, through FB or here, I'm glad to connect with people who will be going to Downstate. I'm Rosa :).

By the way, registration opened, you should have received information by mail and email, if your health forms have been submitted and they cleared you should be able to register. Hope you get to register soon. GL! and hope we get to talk more.

This is super exciting. Thanks for starting the thread. My name is Donna. I didn't buy the uniform because I spoke wih a friend who works with someone who graduated from Downstate last year and she told me not to bother buying it instead, we can get regular scrubs and sew the emblem on. I'm sure this is not a particularly favored approach but those Downstate uniforms are expensive!

Registration opened earlier this week. I tried to register but found out that I still have to submit my second ppd so hopefully I can get that settled this week.

I know that this program is intense but is anyone tinkeirng with the idea of working a few hours?

Hi Wingchick, yeah I'm wondering if I'll be able to work a little bit. I'm thinking of testing the waters the first semester and seeing if it may be possible to work. How about you? Have you heard of anyone doing it?

That same friend's coworker said that only 5 people out of her cohort worked. It was difficult during the summer but fall semester and onward got a little better. Yikes! I'm going to do the same as you and see how it goes.

from all indications, that would really be pushing it. from reading posts here, and speaking with some of the admissions people, sounds like we'll all be sleep deprived and shell-shocked for the duration.

Yeah the fall seems less intense so depending how the summer session goes. Good to know some people did it, but I'm sure it's difficult.

Hey Donna and Rosa... nice to meet you through here! My name is Andriana. Luckily I registered in time..i never got the email so didnt know! I purchased the tote/kit and uniform bc it said mandatory plus scrubs..ah i dont know just got it in case.but sooo expensive. I heard working working is impossible and the summer will be too intense ..maybe work study? I got a print out of our classes and luckily the first 6 weeks we only have two long days..others are from 9am to 1 or 3pm. and apparently depending on which day you choose..we either have wed or thurs off. i choose thurs off since pathophys is friday figured that be my relax / study day for that class lol. soo lets start a facebook ladies and gents.. it would be so nice to put a face to your names...maybe even get as many people to grab coffee or drinks to meet prior to june 1 at school or any where fun in nyc lol lol ideas?? ... start building a friendship since we will all become very needy and helpful to one another immediately.
