Hiya!
Woke Nannie up at 1:20 PM; this is the third day in a row she has slept through the mornings. Had to wake her up and get her wet bottoms off and put dry ones on. It was easier and faster for me to do so, as hubby had her breakfast-lunch tray ready. Now we are watching the Braves vs the Phillies but Nannie is 'watching' the game with her eyes closed. ? Hubby at least opens his eyes when the commercials are over and the game resumes.
Don't have any plans for today. Tomorrow I call and make Dr's follow-up appts for hubby, and make an appt with a podiatrist for Nannie. OH! And make an appt for me to get some new glasses! This is what you do when you are retired...attend appointments. Ain't we got fun?
Probably will come by here later.....
Those end-of-shift admissions are frustrating. But ER nurses will say "I don't want to have to give report to someone who hasn't taken care of the patient and then they have to hand them off to the floor". Why that's worse than me having to do an admission and then hand them off to the next shift I really don't understand. But, as you say, choose your battles.
If I could only get ER staff to be nicer to patients and families I'd have a lot fewer complaints to deal with.
I'm still pretty useless today. Hubs went to church and sang with the choir. He brought back food from the potluck.
Joe, hope you got to see J and that you enjoyed the knitting group.
I finally got out and worked in my garden a bit today. Pruning and a little weed pulling. I checked to see if any Asian pears were ripe: not yet. I picked a bouquet of dahlias to take to work tomorrow. It's still on the cool side here. I was going to turn on the fireplace for the dog, but the batteries are dead in the remote and I don't have any AAAs. I caught up on The Patient on Hulu. It's a rather dark drama about a psychiatrist. I don't know why I get drawn to these things.
The reunion was OK, not as many people came as I would have hoped. There were 15, out of a class of 160. To our best recollection, 20 have passed away. A couple of the guys entertained us with some of their shenanigans during high school, like placing a VW bug on the roof as a senior prank. I won a door prize, for being married the longest. The prizes were jokes too, my prize was a bottle of stool softeners.
Dh comes home tonight from Denver, his last work trip ever. Maybe. It looks like he will be working to the end of October. I will believe it when it happens.
Yes, its seems lately that my life is either making or attending Dr. appointments. Oh well, I guess at least I'm alive to do it, and I have good health insurance.
Good to hear you went to the reunion, nursej22. Gosh, the last reunion I attended was probably 8 years ago. I attend sporadically. Usually have a good time when I go, but as it's up in Nor Cal (near Santa Rosa), we don't make it up there very often. As I recall, some of the shenanigans were like yours: jeep disassembled then reassembled in the lobby of the boys' dorm. Zebra stripes painted on a couple of the horses (some of the kids were able to bring their horses, as the campus was very rural).
I spent the afternoon going to the grocery store, then baking two Fruit of the Forest pies, then baking an eggplant casserole (it's in the oven now). My legs are tired of standing, feels like I need to elevate them. I'm not real hungry, will probably have cheese and crackers for dinner. Oh, and need to get the load of laundry out of the dryer.
No Stars, good luck making everyone's appointments! Hope the evening was quiet for you (read: that those who are dozing, will doze quietly!).
Tweety, you are wise to choose your battles. Number one, in the future you have to work with the ppl you may cross. Number two, best not to let it affect your BP! You sound like you have a balanced perspective on the whole situation (though sometimes ya gotta just shake your head and mumble, and throw your hands in the air [ to us]). Bowling tomorrow!!
Have a good evening!

Dianah glad things have cooled off
NJ22 wish it were that cool here
Stars that does seem to be the case with him, especially in the last few months
Was a quieter Saturday than usual. Went to the arboretum for bird watching, saw a fair number. Made some rice in preparation for next week. Picked up something at a local restaurant I haven't been to in years. Watched Svengoolie
Today have church, will be assisting minister today. A little easier as now that we're back on our regular schedule I don't need to be there until 10. Will meet J for lunch as long as he's up to it, he was tired yesterday but otherwise fine. Will stop by the church for an hour or so to join the knitting group, need to start working on the scarf. Will finish the cooking when I get back
Will be in the mid 80s again, storms expected tonight
