Tweety hope the rain holds off until the repairs can be done

Stars I hope you hear something regarding senior day care soon

NJ22 thanks for the photo

Hi Ado

Dianah I made a fall minestrone along with some cornbread and peanut butter cookies

Did get to the Arboretum yesterday, was going to go on a longer hike than usual but my legs protested.  It seems I still have some fatigue from that GI bug.  Later I had lunch with dad as usual, then the dinner with the over 50 group.  Only 1 other person than me, which was OK but would have liked a larger crowd.  Wasn't impressed by the food at this place

Today will do a little meal prep before church.  After church will take the train downtown to meet my friend from IN to have lunch and then get a tour of Orchestra Hall, should be interesting, have not been there in years

Will be warmer today, possibly up to 80, although I think it will get quite a bit cooler in the next few days

Hello all!

Joe, that sounds like a fun outing, to take the train and have lunch with your friend and get a tour of Orchestra Hall!  Enjoy!

We are up kinda early (for us), getting ready to head to the church for friend's memorial service.  The big musical group we are in, which our friend was the "leader" of, will lead one sing-along during the service.  So we will be there early to check out seating arrangements up front, and to practice with the group.  Reception following, which we will attend but will not stay long, as cats need to be fed.  We will come home and de-compress after cats are fed.

Have a good day!

Woke up at 11:30 AM to Momo barking that SiL was downstairs with Nannie. She got her up and dressed and gave her the usual breakfast and meds.

SiL just came up and said all was well, and she will be dropping off some more disposable incontinence products tomorrow. Then on Wednesday she will come and spirit Nannie away to her house. Can't be too soon for me!

It is supposed to be quite warm today. I have no plans to go anywhere. I suppose I ought to get dressed and go down to the den. Unless Nannie is sleeping, I will sit with her and prolly do crossword puzzles and read some of the on-line news feeds to keep my brain occupied. If she is sleeping, I'm sure I can find some things to do around the house. However, I have been so good at putting things off, that I may do nothing at all! What a rebellious child I am! 😋

Good afternoon.

I'm back on my iMac.  Turns out there was a generic "we are working on restoring cable to your area" not when you opened the app, that I thought was specific to me.  When I chatted with the AI and asked "Am I in an outage?" the answer was "there are no reported outages in your area" so I plugged it in an had internet.  Wonder how many days I fussed about not having internet when I really had it.  DOH.  LOL

Stars, hope you have a good day.  Nice of your SIL to help you out even though you still feel trapped most days.

J22, that's a nice picture.  I love being around water but not sure I'd like the weather there.  I hear it's supposed to be more rainy than average due to La Niña.

Dianah, glad you were able to get your pies.  Sorry about the poor sleep.

Routine Sunday.  Went to hot yoga and washed sheets.  woo hoo

G is pretty settled in and has the bedroom and bathroom set up to suit himself.  He even set up a little office area to put his lap top and got a desk chair.  It's a small bedroom.  Lots of his stuff that isn't in storage is scattered throughout the house.  But I have plenty of room.

I ordered a basic cable TV package for him.   He likes to watch HGTV, CNN and a few other channels.  Since I had a ROKU device and wireless already hooked up to the TV the cable was instantaneous when I hung up the phone.

He made up a rental lease with me as his landlord to submit his expenses to his insurance company.  Expenses in utilities and the cab will go up with him here, but otherwise I won't need much.

Gorgeous weather here.  Sunny in the low 80's.  This is one of my favorite times of the year here.

Hope all is well.

Loving the weather right now in Ocala. So refreshing!

It's almost warm here at 60, but windy with rain showers. It's knocking off all the leaves that just turned color, as happens every year. The river was really high this morning, with lots of branches floating along. It looks like it peaked at 2 ft. below flood level. The rain stopped long enough for me to walk home after breakfast. My bike is in the shop for a tune-up.

A lot of people get tired of our gray skies, and it gets to me around February. But the summers are usually quite pleasant. Yeah, I guess more rain is predicted. I hope we get lots of snow this Winter. While driving last night, I was reminded how much I hate driving in the rain and the dark. It's so hard to see with the spray that cars kick up from the road. And too many pedestrians and cyclists all dressed in black.

I've been helping ds to remove his old desk, but when he went to assemble the new one he got on Amazon, noticed a component is broken. Ah well. dh is putting up the window blind that we got a month or so ago. Me? I'm fiddling with my computer. I got some stuff to try new pumpkin cookie recipes.

For 45 minutes Nannie has been folding and unfolding the shoulder-wrap with Fringe. On top of that she keeps folding and removing a hand towel. She counts the layers, then puzzles about the fringe, then rolls it all up, then counts the layers again, then wonders what the hand-towel is for and why IT doesn't have any fringe. (It's a towel I put over her chest when she eats, so no food will drop on her jersey.)Then she makes sure all the edges are straight and lined up 'just so'. She told me how "he" had taken her blue shoes out into the yard and (gestures with her hands) saying "whhup-wheep-wup!", indicating, I suppose what "he" was doing (?!) and then "he" brought them back inside. Every time she comes up with a new "arrangement" of the shoulder-wrap and hand-towel, she will stop and say, "Look.....is that right?" I told her any way she wanted to use it or fold it, it was up to her because there is no right or wrong. Nannie also told me when she was talking to her momma  earlier (who has been gone for at least 38 years) about the fringe, "Momma said, 'Well, honey, I don't know what you expect me to do about it.".... And that's when I realized her mind isn't right anymore." (IMAGINE THAT!)

I tell you what: It has been a real wing-ding of an afternoon!

Hello!

We arrived at 10 at the church, to set up and go over the one sing-along song for the memorial service.  The service started at 11, and between everything planned (no extemporaneous sections), it was done by 1:15 or so.  We skipped the reception, as we were focused on getting home to feed the cats -- but ended up visiting/chatting with several ppl in the church after the service, some we hadn't seen in a couple years.  So, though we didn't go to the reception, we still arrived home around 2:30!  Fed the cats, then had a late lunch.  Took a short nap.  It was a very nice service, what a remarkable life he had -- no wonder he was such a remarkable person!  We were blessed to have known him.  And the music was beautiful: prelude piano music, followed by a piano and violin piece, and at the end of the service, one of S's favorites: Toccata and Fugue, J.S. Bach, played on the huge organ!  It was spectacular!

It's nice to be home, though. 🙂

Have a nice evening!
