Stars I tell myself that same thing, and try to let go of things I can't control

NJ22 that sounds like a nice bike ride

Dianah glad you're feeling better and the ants are gone.  I put a layer of Vaseline on the outside of the cat's dish to keep ants out

Tweety that must be hard on George, not able to return home and having a dying cat on top of it

Yesterday was pretty good.  Did bird watching in the morning and then had lunch with dad as usual.  Ran some errands too

Met the over 50 group for dinner and drinks at an indoor miniature golf place.  Good turnout, although I felt it was a bit too loud there, made conversation a bit difficult

Had a headache and fatigue in the evening, needed to take both acetaminophen and ibuprofen to vanquish it, making me wonder if it could have been a migraine.  Was calm the rest of the day, and now I know more about my anxiety triggers

Slept much better last night.  Will go bird watching this morning, then will skip church and have a  coffee event with the over 50 group.  Will probably be just the organizer and me, which is fine as she is an interesting person to talk to

Today should continue to be cool, in the upper 60s

'Allo~

SiL has come over to get Nannie ready for the day, and I don't know if she is planning to just stay here with Nannie or if she is going to take her over to her house. I just woke up, so I am having my coffee. I do have to go get my med and a few other items. I'd just as soon 'blow it off' but I've been so good at doing that lately that NOW I do have to go out.

Momo woke me up barking JUST after I fell asleep, around 1:30 AM.... it was because Nannie had gotten up and gone out to her recliner. She didn't make a heck of a lot of sense when I asked her why she was getting up in the middle of the night. She tried to say something 3 times but the only attempt I understood was the third attempt when she said "potato", which she then used her hand to 'scrub' the air to indicate that's not what she meant. Anyway, I told her she had to get back in bed and sleep or at least TRY to sleep! I guess she did, because I didn't wake up for the day until Momo started barking again, this time because SiL had entered through the back door. I have a Hearing-Ear Dog! She also warns, sometimes, that there are deer in the yard, or a squirrel hopped past the back door. What a gooooood dog!

Time to start moving around.....

Later, y'all !

Hi. Another nice, cool day. Our plan for the day was for dh to go to breakfast at the diner with me and ds, but he is still suffering from a cold. So I went for another enjoyable bike ride.

SiL called last night to report that MiL had had a "health event" while driving and was being taken to the ED. dh thought he should go, but with his cough and a sl. elevated temp, I said "NO!"  He's tested negative twice for COVID, so apparently just a nasty cold. Anyway, it seems that MiL's COPD was flared up, and she was going to spend the night in hospital, and reassess in the am.

We are picking up eldest ds and DiL this evening from the airport. Our plan was to spend the day, but I now realize it is Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend, and things will be crazy busy. Probably best to just go to the airport and home.

I am working on a project for the roses, cutting hardware cloth. I'm glad I can do that outside. dh just came down the hall, c/o of chilling and saying he needs to go see his mum. In my firmest mean nurse voice, "NO!"

Thank you for the update, Tweety. Poor kitty, but it sounds like he is comfortable, which is a lot.

Ooh, I love mini golf. But don't like noise.

Ants. Ugh. We had some this Summer. I put out little traps that seemed to work well.

I am well practiced in putting things off. I need to get off the couch and move!

I did a huge amt of grocery shopping because I am tired of running out of things and having to make short trips to restock. Of course, there are a few things I could not find at WalMart, so .....ugh. Good intentions, anyway, and I hope none of them paved the road to he11..... *sigh*

I have to call and make appts for my car and my dog, but I can't get 'em in until the SS check arrives in my account on the 21st. I am also going to be late on my Care Credit card payment; I paid for my new glasses with that card. I somehow didn't realize you are supposed to pay-in-full when you use it, and I only paid half the amount at last payment date. What a P-I-A! What do they think they are, an American Express card, or something? Jeeze!

Well, SiL took Nannie to her house. I spent 2 hours shopping and dodging the Sunday traffic on the roads and getting through the crowded store and waiting in the long lines at  checkout. It seemed like half the city's population all decided to go to WalMart today.

Momo blessed me out, like she always does, for going off and leaving her here. I never take her shopping anymore, but she squeaks and squawks and yaps at me even when I have to make a trip outside just to bring more bags in. She has worn herself out barking and is now sound asleep in her clam-shell dog bed; She LOVES that thing because it is very soft, and she doesn't have to toss blankets around with her nose to get herself covered up to stay warm.

I don't remember if I mentioned this or not, but now that she's been here for one year, she is coming out of her shell and actually wants to PLAY with one of her squeak-toys, bringing it back to me, wanting me to toss it. Only thing is she wants to play ON the bed, and if it falls off the bed, *I* am the one who has to go pick it up. I can't toss it too far because I sleep in a twin-size bed.

I suppose the in-laws (one or both) are going to be bringing Nannie back sometime in the next hour. I swear..........frequently.

Hi, posting fro my phone.  No powerband not even an estimate.

Survived three 12s in a row.  Bleh...

Our CEO and the CEO of the children's hospital across the street worked with the State we got a gas tanker stationed nearby and we got free gas.  There's a couple of other sites giving out free gas but this was just for employees.  So I got a full tank.  They ran out but another truck was there a couple of hours later.

Bowling canceled tomorrow.

The cat is still hanging around and comfortable.

Sorry to have been avoidant, again. I was pretty tired after traveling and of course there was a lot of catching up to do at work. I've been icing my feet and knees since they are especially achy after all the walking. I fell and skinned my knee on the way to dinner one night as I was walking and taking pictures at the same time. I would have liked to stay longer at the zoo -- maybe do the bus tour or sky tram -- but my phone battery was really low and I wanted to be sure I could get an Uber back to the hotel.

Tweety, I'm sorry your friend's condo was so damaged. It is good that you can help him out. I'm glad the cat doesn't seem to be suffering. It sounds pretty awful to have no power, no gas, and a full hospital. But I realize things could be worse.

Glad everyone is healing. Good for you telling your dh he shouldn't go visit his mom at the hospital while sick.

Choir went well this morning at church and we went to the nursing home to sing hymns with the residents this afternoon. Hubs and I have tried to see the comet but so far no luck.

Hello all!

Thanks for all the updates.

No Stars, at least you were able to get some errands done.  Go get 'em, Watchdog Momo!

Joe, how was your birdwatching and the 50-and-older get-together?

nursej22, hope your MiL is discharged soon, with no residual ill effects from the event.  And, I hope your dh feels better soon (NO, he may NOT go see ANYone, as long as he is sick!).

Tweety, you are doing great, even though you just feel like you are "hanging in there."  Sounds like you are taking things one day at a time, and rolling with whatever.  I mean what else can you do?  Oh, you could work yourself up into a tizzy of worry and "what-ifs??" but you know that would accomplish nothing.  You were there for your patients, and are there for George and Chappy, and for your own dear dogs.  And you have a full tank of gas in your car!  I hope there is some good news tomorrow (besides the fact that you are OFF!).

Hello Ado!  Good you were not more damaged by your fall.  Falls get scarier as *we* age...

I didn't get to sleep till after 5:30 this morning, and slept till dh woke me at 10:30.  Then he fed the felines (it's a whole choreographed routine, doncha know!) and we got ready to meet with fiddler.  We then drove 20 min to a park in Riverside to meet with bass player, and we had a good 3-hour practice, going over old hymns for Friday's graveside service.  I have to finalize the list and get that out to the others.  We went over a lot more songs than were needed, but it was good to practice and get the band to the 'gel' stage.  E is a REALLY good bassist, and seems to fit in well, and is versatile.

THEN we went to a nearby Mexican food restaurant, the iconic Tio's Tacos.  GREAT food, and WHAT an eclectic artistic atmosphere!  https://californiathroughmylens.com/tios-tacos-riverside-art/  We will be bringing oldest ds there in the future, think he would love it!  Dh had a pumpkin spice horchata to drink, that he says was delicious.  All the food we got was wonderful, and the surroundings are so very entertaining, with new things to be discovered every time one turns a little.

We are home now, and doggie has done his doggie bizness outside, and we are winding down for the evening.

Have a good evening!
