Good morning.
Joe, there's a lot of guided meditations out there. I used to listen to them on cassette way back in the day.
J22, enjoy the concert. You might remember that I saw this tour and he was fantastic.
Dogs let me sleep in today. Going to see a play later called "All things Equal: The Life & Trials of Ruth Bader Ginsburg". The show is sold out, but it's a small theater. She's so popular they added another show today and that one sold out.
I scheduled a covid booster for tomorrow at CVS. You can get it walk in but it's easier to fill out the forms online ahead of time. Apparently, at least here in Florida, the money is running out for free vaccines for some of us. The governor is not exactly vaccine friendly so it's doubtful he'll ask the state to step up. My last booster was over a year ago. I don't mind getting a booster like the flu shot once a year but that seems to be my comfort level with it.
Good morning!
Good to hear you got out with the bike on the Prairie Path, Joe! Sorry to hear J's stomach is not cooperating. 78 is a nice temperature! Hope you can find some good meditation-like, helpful practices to change to.
Tweety, enjoy the play! And yay, you got to sleep in! Hope the booster doesn't knock you down much.
Yesterday we attended Zoom Sabbath School, then in the afternoon I visited a friend and took her a copy of The Chosen, seasons 1 and 2. We are long-time friends (since BK = Before Kids!), and it was nice to catch up a little. It was a short visit, she had to get ready for a reception. But now she has the DVDs. Dh and I really enjoy them, and we think she and her dh and daughters will too.
In the evening I decided to attend a small, local theatre, which was presenting The Mousetrap, an Agatha Christie play. I enjoyed it, they did a good job! Met two nice women who sat next to me. It was good to get out.
Today is probably grocery store day. So exciting!
Have a good day!
Good morning. Yes, the Elton John concert was part of his farewell tour. It was his last appearance in Canada. And yes, it was quite good. I was quite hungry afterward, and the few places that were still open were packed with concert goers and hockey fans. The Canucks played in the arena next to the concert venue. We waited in line for an hour, and just made the cutoff for closing. The food was good, tho. And I had a gin and tonic. Boy did I sleep. Now we are getting brunch then home.
Joe, that sounds like a nice ride. I haven’t been out as much as I’d like. I hope J is getting expert medical care. His allergies sound miserable. What kind of muffins?
I felt zero ill effects from my booster. I’ve gotten every one possible, due to my health issues and several in my family. I’m still waiting for my pharmacy to get the high dose flu vaccine.
food’s here, later.
J22, safe travels home. Glad you enjoyed the night out.
The play was interesting, kind of told Ruth Gator Ginsbergs interesting life story. I didn't realize it but it was a one-woman show. She did a great job getting her mannerisms and style. The character said she was going to retire due to all her health issues when Clinton was president never dreaming that Trump would win. I remember when I heard of her death it taking my breath away. Post-RBG has not been good. In my opinion which I'll save for the political forums. LOL.
Dianah, we talked to the person next to me in the theater today as did. She overheard us talking about a residential facility that best friend is on the waiting list for (one of those facilities that start with independent living and you transition as the years go by to full fledged nursing home if you need it.). Turns out she's the director of training or something like that. She says staffing and retention is a big problem. No kidding.
I've had 3 Pfizer vaccines with zero effects so I requested that one for tomorrow and don't anticipate it to be an issue.
Walked the beach and sat a while with best friend.
I just woke up to the fact that the VIP grand opening event is tomorrow night. Might have missed the window for a new outfit. ?
Brother-in-law is still getting more tests.
Twin A fell off a planter at the zoo the other day while helping set up the holiday lights. Hit is head and gashed his thumb but he's fine.
Gma is mad at us all tonight. Not sure what we did to set that off.
J22, I'm sure Sir Elton put on a great show. And dianah, Agatha Christie is almost always good. Tweety, the RBG play sounds interesting.
Hope you all have a good night and start of the week.

Dianah glad you had good weather for your jam session
Hi Stars
NJ22 is that part of his farewell tour?
Ado that's cool that they're inviting the community as well
Did get out on my bike on the Prairie Path yesterday, probably the first time this year. Was a bit colder than expected but at least I didn't get too hot. Was riding longer than expected, wanted to explore a recently extended section. Surprised my legs are not very sore today
Came home and baked muffins, went to lunch with dad, and washed the sheets. Spent a fair amount of time on knitting, had to twice repeat sections due to errors. Thankfully I haven't had to re do a lot of sections. Watched Svengoolie too
J's having a lot of stomach issues, probably related to his allergies which are related to the freakishly warm temperatures. We hit 80 yesterday, I had to have the AC on
Today will be a quieter day, will do laundry and go to church and do cooking
Will start looking at some other meditation practices other than mindfulness. I think it's taken me as far as it can and I feel my practice hasn't improved much the last few years
Another oddly warm day here, up to 78
