Joe, in certain cases it is prudent and wise to do a TEE and as he is an inpatient, best to do it now. But, yeah, the departments usually don't keep someone on call just for TEEs. Any pending will wait for during the week (they are not an emergency procedure), unfortunately. At least he is being observed. I hope all goes well and he can be discharged soon.
We forgot to change the clocks last night, so got that unexpected hour of rest/sleep!
Have a good day!
Sunny and 69 degrees. Nannie's horoscope says she might have some romance in her life. Now, I gotta say......THAT'D be interesting! 😂
I still have that kitchen sink full of dishes that need washing. I'd love to have some time to take care of them AND my room AND every single room in the rest of the house that's still in a mess. Oh well. I don't suppose any room inspector's will be showing up, so I shouldn't worry about it. I can't say I am worried about it, but I AM aggravated that I can't get the time to apply myself to what I'd like to get done. What was it that Sabby used to say? I am a sloth!
I slept well last night and had some very interesting dreams, which, naturally, I cannot recall.
Ya know what? 🤔 I don't think I will write 47 paragraphs in today's post! 😄
I agree that it is worth waiting for a TEE if medically indicated. I have seen some sad cases of untreated endocarditis.
We are getting a break from the rain today. I picked up my bike, but didn't ride this morning. I forgot to wash my bike pants, and didn't feel like fishing them out of the hamper.
Last night the hot water heater started to leak, so dh shut off the house water all together. So tomorrow I need to get a plumber, get my car battery checked and possibly replaced, and keep my haircut appointment.
I hope the TEE is all clear. I get aggravated with our staff for not taking blood culture contamination rates seriously and one reason is the cost to patients of false positives (not to say that's the case with Joe's dad, but if it were it sure would illustrate that problem). I remember a patient with endocarditis who had all his teeth pulled in preparation for valve replacement surgery. He was really sick.
My extra hour of sleep was lost to a tornado warning around 1:45 am. We were fine but there are a few places around central OK that have severe damage.
Grilled cheese sandwiches and some of SiL's home-made chicken noodle soup will be what I am going to prepare for supper. I'm pretty hungry, so it won't be long now.
A while ago, Nannie was squinting into the backyard where the afternoon sun comes in. I saw her pull her shoulder wrap up to cover her face and head! A couple of months ago I got Nannie some wrap-around sunglasses, which she declined to wear. BUT, today when I put them on her, she really liked the way she could see outside without squinting. WIN!
Had to turn on the electric fireplace to warm up the den. It is so weird how the den is always chilly when upstairs it is quite warm.
Anyway, I could probably think of more things to write and say, but I really don't want to leave y'all an entire book to read every day!

Tweety too bad that the deductibles have gotten so high

Happy birthday Ado!
Dianah that was nice of the owner
Hi NJ22
Yesterday was a bit exhausting. In the morning cooked the spaghetti and chopped onion and grated the cheese.
Then I drove the hour and a half to see dad, stopping at his hotel to pick up his bags. I was afraid he'd also ask me to drive his ladyfriend home too, but it turns out the hotel owner is from the same town where she lives and gave her a ride home. He seemed fine and said he felt fine
Was only planning to spend an hour or two there, until my sister and BIL got there, but ended up waiting 3 hours for them to show up. BIL is skeptical about the TEE, since dad has no symptoms of any sort of valve disease and since he had a regular ultrasound and was not told of any unexpected findings. But perhaps they're being cautious to cover themselves
Stopped for fast food on the way home as I hadn't eaten anything since that morning. Then completed the remaining preparation and cooking of the baked spaghetti. Decided to make the fish for this coming week as well, just to get that out of the way. And do a mountain of dishes. With setting the clocks back I had time to get it all done and still have some time to relax before bed
Today, with nothing really to do this morning, I'm going to stop at the Arboretum before church. I'll drop off the spaghetti a bit early to be reheated and then serve as assisting minister. Since I'll need to be in the city not long after church I'll probably have to miss the potluck, my friend B and I are going to the Museum of Contemporary Art. Rest of the day should be quiet
Think it's going to be a bit warmer today, in the 60s, with rain expected later today
