I find that I'll dwell on one thing and spend my Sunday night anticipating my ration in crap - I work in school nursing so i expect to come in to the red light of doom aka my voice mail light with an angry message from a parent because I didn't call home because a kid came in with something insignificant but blows it up (ie paper cut that to the child was practically a severed limb...).
In my 1st career, I used to get the sunday night "blues" thinking about the upcoming work week, but not in nursing. Mostly because I'm not going to be working 5 days in a row, 2 max and then at least 1 day off. Plus I actually really like what I do.
And when you're working the weekend, you look forward to Sunday night 'cause your shift's almost over.
I have never made myself sick thinking about work, but I also despise Sunday nights, especially nowadays when I'm working clinic hours. Sundays are kinda the pits: I can't stay up late (I'm naturally a night owl, but I rise by 0630 for work), my husband leaves for home in the mid-afternoon, and I often spend the night on YouTube trying to pretend work isn't around the corner.
I don't think about it the day before but for some reason a lot of times I get a stomach ache or cramps an hour or two before I go in. Which is weird because I'm not nervous about my job, but maybe it's my involuntary nervous system telling me I should be!!
So you metabolize the Sunday night heebeegeebees a little slower, it's such a strange phenomenon, I think my issue is I'm such a free spirit that I just hate to have to be somewhere, to have to do something.

I usually decline to agree with the last part of your sentence in public, but I am, despite the rank on my shoulders and boots on my feet, very much the same way. My vacations, often to quiet, scenic places with no particular schedule but plenty to do if I so choose, are more than proof of my true nature.

Me too, often times just staying home for a week is a vacation!!! What branch of service are you in? I almost joined the Navy at 18, but went the Law Enforcement route instead, while I loved every minute of it, I often wonder how different my life would be if I chose the military. Anyway, now I'm getting all nostalgic on you, sorry, but a BIG THANK YOU for your service!

I'm in the Army. I'm sure your life would've been quite different had you joined. It's...an experience, shall we say. And thank you for your appreciation. I sincerely appreciate it!

Am I the only one who gets the Sunday night heebeegeebees in anticipation of the work week ahead? They kill me, because I can't sleep, and have to be up early, so then my Monday is termed grouchy Monday!! Anyone else out there have this problem?
