Good morningm
Sounds like a fun day Joe. Hope you enjoy.
I'm at work. They pulle our tech to sit but are doing okay. One patient is having a breakdown and won't calm down. My patience is a little thin right now. She sucks the life out of a room with her negativity. Nut she's been through lot.
Tweety, hope there's a breakthrough with your breakdown pt. Seems, though, your hands are tied when all your efforts fall on deaf ears. Hope SOMEthing good happens later in the day!
Joe, sounds like a nice weekend. Is The King and I a local production? Looking forward to a review, afterwards! Enjoy church and lunch and the production!
Quiet day yesterday and today. I read a book. Started another one. Watched some Burns and Allen late into the night, and before that watched PBS re: The Hindenburg, then one about the use of speed during WWII to enhance performance (both sides), and another program about a mystery ship that appeared in the distance while the Titanic was sinking, but did not come to her aid. It was always assumed that ship was the Californian, and its captain was vilified. Turns out the ship was the Mount Temple, not the Californian. Just interesting stuff, and some things that, were they different, would have greatly changed the outcome of an event.
Dh is recovering from a cold and cough (it is NOT Covid). There is a hymn sing today at 2pm but will likely not go. We have reservations for Disneyland tomorrow, and we want him to be rested and better by the time we go.
It was 97 degrees here yesterday, supposed to be the same today, then drop off somewhat tomorrow. We enjoy our A/C!
Have a good day!
Tweety I hope for all concerned, that your patient can get relief. Med surge, in my opinion, is ill-equipped for mental health crises. It's hard to keep everyone safe and offer a healing environment.
Joe, it sounds like you will have another lovely day. Shall we dance? is playing in my head, :).
Hi Stars, hope your knee is better. Is the sun still bright , LOL? I get a bit of a cost break on washing my car, sort of. I get free washes at the dealership for as long as I own the car. And thanks for the offer on more bathrooms to clean, but what I have is sufficient.
Dianah, whew, 97 is hot! I hope it's not that hot when I get to Palm Springs in a week. But the forecast says it could be hotter!
Hi Ado!
I rode down for breakfast this morning, but got a ride home because it was raining pretty hard. We are picking up eldest ds and going to a memorial for dh's cousin this afternoon. Otherwise, it's another drippy day, stuck indoors. We got campground reservations and ferry reservations done for our camp trip this weekend. We are taking youngest grandson this time.
Hey guys!
Knee is somewhat better, but still tender, so I am being very careful standing up from sitting, and walking up and down the stairs. If things go as they usually do with the gypsy's visits, maybe by Thursday or Friday, they will have sneaked away....I hope. I'm going to have to go to the grocery store tomorrow, so it better be feeling even mo'bettah. I had to use my crutch yesterday.
Yeah, the sun sure was bright...for a while. Then, in the afternoon, while she napped, we also had some thunder here and there. Funny that, after we had a big heavy downpour, Nannie woke up and said to me, "Is it going to rain today?" ...Uh... (And then, my gosh, whaddya know ... it got SO BRIGHT again!)
dianah, 97 degrees? UGH! Well, we'll be there by next week, or so they say. But I hope to heaven we DON'T get anywhere near 107 degrees!
Tweety, hope you have recovered from your "19th nervous breakdown" patient. Maybe he/she will be transferred from your floor so you don't have to deal with that again.
Last night, Nannie stayed up until, ugh, 11:45 PM! ? I wanted to scream GO TO BED! several times. In fact, hubby tried to get her to go to bed earlier and she wouldn't. I think she stayed up just to spite him. Except HE went up to bed and left me there with her. I was going to sit and watch the old movie that was on, but ? I couldn't stand her sitting there for another second, so I said, "Do you want me to leave the TV on?" Of course, she didn't; she doesn't know how to use the remote. I had to wait for her to go slowly step-by-step with her PM routine ( she doesn't actually require any help with that, thank goodness!)
So tonight after American Idol was over, I could see she was intent on staying up as long as I did. ? Hoping she wouldn't be interested, I turned the channel to see ED Sullivan's Rock'n'Roll (it's only on for a half an hour.) and I said, "When this is over, I'm turning off the TV and going upstairs. Are you going to sleep in your recliner?" Nope. THAT'S when she realized she was going to have to get up and go to bed. I told hubby that I didn't want her to get in the habit of staying up with me every night. I deserve my alone/down-time, and more than that, I NEED it. I only have a few 'last nerves' left, and I'd be so very happy if she would stay OFF them!
OK, Ima gonna quietly read in my quiet room. Hope a good night's sleep will calm my savage nerves.??
Just popping in real quick to brag on Dory-dog. This morning she woke Twin B and insisted on go in out. But then she just ran out a few feet, looked around, and went back in. Twin B noticed on his way back to bed that there was a light on in the kitchen. He figured Gma was up and looked for her and couldn't find her. So he went back outside and there she was walking around to the back of the house. I'm positive that Dory knew something wasn't right and made sure one of us knew about it.
We do have an alarm on the doors but once one of us leaves in the morning ( Twin A left early for work this morning) the alarm isn't set any more.

Morning Tweety
Stars I hope your knee settles down
Hi NJ22
Busy day yesterday. Went to the arboretum in the morning, saw a bunch of birds. Also decided to take the opportunity to spread some of my mom's ashes there. Not sure if she went to the arboretum much but it would be the type of place she liked
Then came home and did cooking, went to lunch with dad, and then came home and did some baking. The evening was quieter, watched Svengoolie
Today will also be busy. Laundry, church, then lunch with J and then we're going to see a musical, The King and I
Starting to get ready for my trip to Madison this coming week, keeping an eye on the weather
Will finally get down into the 70s today, which is more normal for May.
