This morning was a rerun of yesterday morning, with me coming out of the bathroom and Nannie appearing at the bottom of the steps to the third level. I just said, "Go back downstairs and sit in your chair. I will bring your breakfast after I get dressed." So she did.....and I did. After she ate, I got her dressed. Now she is sitting there with her eyes closed, but not sleeping.
At some point I have to go out to replenish our usual drinks; at least we are well-hydrated. I may have to drag Nannie along to sit in the car while I dash in for what we need; I don't trust her not to wake up and 'go in search of' someone, if I am not sitting here in the den.
Nannie's problem with the 'fading out' is that when she is called upon to repeat herself, she can't remember what it was she was talking about or what she'd originally said. It goes like this: "I didn't understand the end of what you just said" // " N: "yes." ..// Me: "No, I am asking you what you said at the end of your sentence" // N: "Yes." // "What were you asking me, or what were you (we?) talking about?" //N: "Uh-huh.". 😳😳😳
I think it is s'posta get up to 60-ish today, and it's sunny. I hope it is a better day than yesterday because I am so tired of being calm and then the switch flips when I've used up all my nice-ness about things. Like yesterday there was something in the backyard she was pointing out to me, and there was nothing there. So when I said "What was it that you saw?", she started gesturing to her pant legs and shoes. Then she showed me how far down her jersey went. Then she pulled it up and showed me something about her stomach, "See?" // Okay. What. Ever. 🤪
Going to watch the Oscars tonight whether or not Nannie wants to or understands any of it or ...... anything! She can make disgusted faces at the dresses women are wearing.
Okay, she is groggily awake, so I have to get the car pulled around in order to pack her into it so I can do the few errands. I thought maybe SiL would come over after church to give her a shower and do her hair. Ought to send her a text to see......
Nope, SiL and her dgt and mother are going out to play BINGO! She kept apologizing to me, but I told her it was okay, I was just trying to figure out if I needed to take Nannie out with me. And I found out that I did have to bring her along to just sit in the car while I did a fast zip around the store.
So, when I came back out to unload the groceries into the back of my car, and started to take the cart back to the front of the store, Nannie started knocking on her window. I held up my index finger and brought the cart to the corral. When I came back to the car, she had TRIED to open the door, but I had left it locked and the seatbelt on her for a reason, so she couldn't figure out how to get out. I asked her why she was trying to get out of the car and she told me she thought I would need help. Nope, I didn't.
When we got pulled into the back yard, I told her to STAY PUT while I took the groceries up to the kitchen. She had no choice, with the seat belt still on her. Then I got Nannie out of the car and into her recliner, and since I do not have any gorilla glue tape to secure her, I told her very clearly 3x what I was going to do and to PLEASE STAY PUT. The comprehension was poor. After I took Momo out for her very short ride to park the car beside the house, under the carport, (a <2 minute 'trip',) Nannie asked if I was going to take her somewhere. I said, "We just now have come back home from the store," She frowned and chewed on her lower lip, which isn't a good sign. I told her the car was PARKED for the rest of the day, and that tomorrow she would be going out to the daycare center. She said she thought I had the car out because we were going to go somewhere today, and she wanted to know if could she go too? OMG. All *I* could do was say "no." Explanations do no good so it's a waste of breath.
Now she has gone back to fiddling with her sleeves....after 6 or 7 adjustments, she still wasn't satisfied, because she was trying to secure both hands in her pockets ....and could only manage one hand with the sleeve pulled down to cover that hand to push it into her sweater pocket. And she has been trying to cover her other hand up by pulling it back inside her other sleeve, with no good results. I would get up and do it for her, but within 30 seconds that hand would be out again, and she didn't ask me to, so.....................so there!
It's 3:30 PM and I wish she would doze off!! She's still chewing on her bottom lip, which is an indication she is trying to think of something to say or to argue about. Last night she wanted to go to bed at 8:30 PM and I was agreeable about that! Six hours til her 'bedtime' tonight. I say that so I have something to look forward to. I really hope she will grow bored with the Oscars and ask to go to bed earlier tonight as well. *Fingers Crossed*
Maybe I should hire a driver (Uber?) to drive her around for eight or nine hours.....EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. She just told me,"They have called for more girls to come in to help". Well, GOOD! If only that was so! But, 🤣 I'm having too much 😝 fun here with Nannie, all by myself, to be able to share it with 'more girls'.
I wish a few of us girls could drop in to watch the Oscars. We'd keep Nannie entertained 🤪
I have not seen any of the movies nominated for best picture. Big surprise, since we never go to the movies anymore. I have seen, thanks to Twin A and Twin B, all but one of those nominated for best animated feature.
Hubs will not be interested in watching the awards show but Twin A might. Nope, he declines. So there we are. It's OK. I'm in the middle of a book I'd like to finish. And need to buy groceries.
WOW! Great, and a bit strange, ice sculptures! Is the squirrel aiming a gun? At first I thought it might be that it was playing a stringed instrument, and maybe the owls were dancing to its music? Anyway, the hippo's charge was pretty impressive, with the people being tossed askew. Amazing! Much more interesting than watching the Oscars! And "the framed kid" is very cute! Your grand?

The squirrel is playing a fiddle!
Yes. One of them.

Hi TMB
Tweety that is probably a good idea, to keep to your usual routine and keep busy

Ado declining to eat seems consistent with someone who is in hospice
Decided not to go bird watching yesterday as it was unexpectedly cold. Instead ran some errands and then went to the dentist. The appointment went well, then had lunch with dad. Went for a walk once the weather improved, skipped Svengoolie and watched the Danny Kaye movie Merry Andrew instead, it was just OK
Today will go to church a bit early as I'll be the assisting minister. Will do the cooking for the week beforehand. In the afternoon will meet with the over 50 group for a bowling outing. Rest of the day should be pretty quiet
Will continue to be colder today, in the upper 30s, although the rest of the week should be warmer
