Stars that was nice of your DH to send that card

Tweety I had though it was easier to give meds to dogs, compared to cats

Ado I like lemon drop martinis too

Was a good day yesterday.  Went bird watching in the rain, few birds but plenty of mosquitoes.  And was hard to hold and umbrella and use binoculars too.  At least I got a decent walk out of it

Came home and baked cookies,  went to lunch with dad, and baked corn bread.  Skipped the Svengoolie movie

Today need to get started early as I have to get to church early to help set up for coffee hour.

Might get together with J if he's  feeling better, we'll try tomorrow if he's not.  Yesterday he slept in late and missed his  morning meds and, no surprise,  he didn't feel well.   Will do some CEUs later today and work on my PA license application

Going to  be in the upper 80s today,  rain should  stay away

Where is everybody? Have they gone to the beach? the mountains? work?

It's been a quiet day here. Well, HERE here, anyway. The local news is filling us in on all the shootings that occurred all around Charlotte, NC in the last 24 hrs.

In case you don't go onto the political thread I am going to post this, that I just posted on that thread: I saw on-line a photo of a woman wearing a full-length black dress with white images on it that resemble sperm. She carried a sign that read:  "MANDATORY VASECTOMIES! Life Begins With Ejaculation!" ...I thought that was clever, because we ALL know that a woman's egg doesn't just spontaneously become a fetus without the help of some sperm. So, why aren't men also burdened with a law from SCOTUS?

Last night hubby was bringing upstairs both baskets of folded laundry. I fussed at him to NOT take both baskets upstairs at the same time, because he did this once before and tripped on the next-to-the-top-step and fell into the woodwork of the guestroom door, and tore the skin on his right elbow and forearm. Well, naturally he didn't listen, he said, "I'm not going to fall!"  ("Famous Last Words!") And so, of course, a minute later I heard an awful crash and loud thud overhead. I ran upstairs and found him on the floor at the foot of his bed, saying, "I'm okay, I'm okay." I had to help him get up. He had no skin tears, but had a small abrasion above his left eyebrow, and only a small red spot on his left knee. ? Jeez-Beez-Lou-eez! What else is there to say?!!

No Stars, tut-tut, sorry your dh fell, hope his seemingly minor injuries are just that, and don't cause him too much concern.  (yes, I agree he SHOULD have listened to you, but that's a moot point now!)

Joe, hope you and J were able to get together.  How was church and coffee hour?

We have been camping in the mountains for two glorious weeks.  Week One, we had to come back down the hill (45 min away) for dh to get an urgent dental appt and tooth pulled.  Yes, THAT one, that has been bothering him, on and off, for 3-4 weeks!  He felt SO much better after it was pulled, and we were very lucky they were able to squeeze in an appt same-day as he called!  Then we headed back up to the campsite (minus the tooth and minus the pain!).

Then Week Two, jamming friends showed up at two nearby campsites, and we enjoyed some visiting and jamming!  Wednesday we had a storm come through: thunderboomers, rain, and HAIL!!  The clouds were beautiful afterwards, and the next day!  The temps were around the mid-60's during the storm, and ranged from 72-84 the other days.  It was so nice up there!  We made reservations to return in September, for a week.  Why not??

I will review posts from the past two weeks, to see what I've missed.  I HAVE missed you all, I had NO service whatsoever.  Dh had one to two bars on his phone, from his service provider.  I got service the couple times we drove 20 min into Big Bear City.  And, of course, I had service when I drove dh down to the dentist.

It's nice to be home, and the cats all told us they are happy to see us and to have us home.

Have a good evening!

Welcome back Dianah!

Joe, hope you had a good day.

Stars, that's a sure sign of an impending fall the "I'm not going to fall" statement.

Work was busy.  I got a hug from a family member that thought I did so well with mother.  Who knew?

My sister diagnosed my mother with Lewis Body Dementia.  She's pretty convinced she's correct because "she's done her research".  Regardless it's clear my mother's mind and health are on the downswing.  Dad seems to be taking it well.  My sister is still with them now.   She got dad to hire someone to take care of the yard and it talking him into getting some things fixed around the house like a plumbing issue.  He's cheap and used to doing things himself.

Hi. It's turned hot here. Haven't done much, except watering some of the garden. I took dd's dog to the river to get some exercise and cool off. Angus came along and was disdainful of even getting his feet wet.

Hi Dianah, welcome back. Good to hear that your hubby has attended to that bothersome tooth. I look forward to a recounting of your trip.

Yup, Stars, been there, done that. I myself am guilty of taking a tumble, but the older I get, the more it hurts and the longer it takes to heal. I still have a scab on my knee from my bike fall ? 3 weeks ago? Or was it 4? But I have cut back on climbing ladders and such.

Angus isn't too bad about meds, but I haven't had to give him many. I mainly use American cheese, and mold it around pills.

My oldest sister decided she was an expert on health care for seniors after attending a 1 day seminar. She loved to enlighten me on dementia and sundowning, as if most of my professional life wasn't taking care of elders. I used to just nod and agree. It's good though, that your dad is getting help.

Hey all!

Welcome back, dianah!

Stars, I'm sure you refrained from saying "I told you so". Or maybe not. ?

Tweety, I always found it nice when someone expressed gratitude, even if I didn't think I'd done anything special.

It was 80 degrees today (after being 104 yesterday) and 15% humidity. So we went to the park and had a picnic. It was a bit breezy and Gma complained about that. Hubs, Twin B, and I tossed a frisbee and are all disgusted at how quickly we wore out just from doing that. We should have a couple more days in the 80s then back up to the mid- to high-90s.

Tomorrow and Tuesday we're doing the skills fair at work. Tuesday there will be training on the new IV pumps.
