Stars it is sad she remembers so little

Tweety I remember reading it's to save space

Hi NJ22

Ado that is pretty warm

Yesterday was a good but ordinary day.  Bird watching in the morning.  Then ran some errands, then had lunch with dad.  Ran some more errands then did the cooking for the week.  Watched part of Svengoolie

Today have church, then in the afternoon will meet my friend N to visit the Botanic Gardens, something I haven't done in years.  Probably because it's a good distance from me.

Weather should be nice, in the mid 70s, looks like we'll avoid the rain

97 degrees with a 'feels like' of 109 degrees, 57% humidity and 60% chance of rain and thunder in the early evening.

Last night as I put Nannie to bed, I told her I did not want to get up and find the front door unlocked again....it happened 3 or 4 mornings in the past week. Nannie was sneaking around, climbed the stairs by herself, like she wasn't supposed to, and unlocked both locks on the door....I guess to step out and feel the heat and humidity? Anyway, of course she denied it because she didn't remember or didn't want to get into 'trouble'. She wouldn't look at me after that, and just said "OK". (AND,  yesterday after she was through rummaging around, she went back to lay down on top of her already made bed and it was totally saturated, shoulders to toes when I got her up, so of course I had to do laundry.)

But, nothing was unlocked this morning, thank goodness. I think I mentioned that yesterday when I went up to the bathroom, Nannie got out of her recliner and went out the back door to see BiL who was doing yard-work. I guess the fact that she didn't even know who he was, is kind of troubling. She likes to flirt with men, and though no stranger is ever in our backyard unless we know about it, SHE thinks there are always people in the back yard and the woods along the side of the house. Does not realize or acknowledge her age and her decreasing lack of ability, so whaddya gonna do? If it keeps up, she should be on a locked "wanderers" ward. I know if this getting up and sneaking around continues ,she will probably fall again; she is especially unsteady walking on the lawn as the ground is not exactly even. (END OF GRIPING)

So, it is Sunday and just another day to get through until she goes to day care on Monday. Ah me, ain't life GRAND?

I hear her stirring, so I better get up and see to the morning routine. w00t?

Stars, perhaps BiL could install locks on the doors above Nannie's line of sight and reach to use at night. They certainly can't expect you to watch her 24/7. You are not an indentured servant.

I thought about installing locks high up on the doors, but knowing Nannie, she would find a way to get to unlock it! Where there's a will, there's a way, you know, and if she has nothing else, it's a LOT of STUBBORN will! Especially if it is a challenge, she would be bound and determined to 'git'er done!' She's the one who removed a "guaranteed patient-proof" cast from her wrist in less than an hour. I suppose there will have to be a night-shift hire, or maybe she can just suffer some consequences of her action? So far she is too sturdy and well-padded for anything to break. She has, in the past, broken her wrists...one each on separate occasions. But that was something that they sent her home after they had casted the injured wrist. (The first cast was removed 18 times in 12 hours! She pulled out all the cotton-batting and slipped the cast right off!)

So.....when I heard Nannie cough once and stir around a bit, I went into her room and there she was sitting on the floor! I asked, and she said she had been there "for quite some time." I asked her why she didn't yell, and she said she did and has been yelling......but I had been sitting in the den for half and hour, just on the other side of the wall of her bedroom, and I never heard her yell one time. I did hear her cough, and that's why I went into her room. She didn't have any shoes on and I'm sure her slippery sock (she'd removed one sock already and one was still left on her other foot) was no help for her stability. I couldn't get her to cooperate with me and get up the way I did with her last time. Sooooo.....

I called BiL because it was a fairly easy two-person lift and I'd already checked everything and there were no complaints of real pain, so nothing was sprained or broken. We got her up and into the bathroom, and he waited in the den until I got her dressed and walked to her recliner. I gave her a Tylenol with her breakfast meds so she wouldn't be too sore later on, and it is causing her to sleep 😴 which pleases me 😁very, very much!

Eight hours to 'get through' before it is time to do the bedtime routine again.

Daycare has been moved to Tuesday, per SiL, because she has to be at work on Monday at the ABC store, and be there at 5:30 AM .....so she wouldn't be able to get Nannie to daycare that day.

SiL said that if she takes Nannie on Tuesday, that would give me the day off on my birthday.

94 and feels like 103 but we have a heat warning for tomorrow afternoon with "feels like" temps up to 110. I dress for the chilly air in the hospital, though, usually in layers. It's going to be a hot week. Which reminds me I'd better go water my patio tomato plant. I might get 1-2 little tomatoes from it.

67, feels like 69. I actually had to slip on a hoodie while I was sitting in the shade on the deck. We have 2 teeny tiny tomatoes turning orange. We only have a few days hot enough to ripen them

I spent some time at the demo garden yesterday helping with a berry educational event. Our berry garden lead was talking about the various kinds at the garden, and how to grow them. Afterwards we had to pick up and store the chairs, tables and pop-up covers that dh had helped to set earlier. We ended up going out to eat, I had poutine. We went to this cute little cafe in a little town that sits right on the border. It was super quiet for 8 pm on a Saturday. In normal times, it would be bustling with Canadians. Cross border traffic is down almost 50%.

Today I slept in, took the dogs for a walk, then went out to the garden to weed. I found a recipe for mini scones that I want to take for coffee time at the demo garden, but I don't have oomph to go pick the 1 1/2 cups of berries the recipe calls for.

Good evening.

Had a decent day.  Our "feels like" are in the 100's as well.  Meh...doesn't bother me much.  But I don't get out in it much either.  LOL
Work was fairly decent today.  A nurse had a meltdown that the tech she likes and had her assignment yesterday floated.  I called her out because the her tech was sitting right there.  I said "so and so is right here?  What's wrong with you?" and she started apologizing and crying.  Seriously I think she's mentally ill.  She blamed it on hormones.  But really??

Getting my flat tire fixed tomorrow at 7AM...what was I thinking?

Have a good night.

Ooh, ooh! I am so excited! The guy whose house the little Chihuahua showed up at sent me a message and wanted to know if he and his wife could bring the little dog over for me to meet and so they could check out the home situation. I am going to call him in the morning, because YES I want to meet the dog! And may get to keep it because their dog is very jealous of it and a bit aggressive. Of course, then I would hate having her for a while, and then have the original owner call them looking for her,* I'm hoping and praying it will work out for me! Of course it will work out for the dog, I know, because I am ready to love her already.

*fingers crossed*

Stars, I hope it all works out for you and the dog, for you to keep the dog!  Yes, *fingers crossed*!!
