Good morning!
When we lived in Alaska as a kid, I remember being jealous of those that could skate on the lakes but I couldn't because I was too young. But I would still get on the lakes and pretend to skate in my boots. It was a small lake and I wonder how it's doing now with climate change?
The Mexican food was really good. I had three tacos for $21 and we shared a really good guacamole for $8. Expensive but my friend had a 25% off coupon. Afterwards we sat at the beach and enjoyed a nice sunset.
I have a 7AM appointment tomorrow to get routine car maintenance. Hope that isn't expensive as well. Bleh
Nothing much happening today. I'll be going to 11AM hot yoga and then to the organic store for some beets and other items afterwards. I washed the sheets. I hope I can just stay up and get to bed early tonight.
Have a great day!
Tweety, it is a skate easy assignment. And the aide is an excellent one who won't ignore call lights, will make sure everyone is bathed and walked, etc.
Woke at 5:00 this morning to an imminent threat alert on my phone that said an armed and dangerous suspect was loose in "the area" and to lock doors and windows. I texted Twin B, who was working at the hospital and had not received the alert. He called back after talking to other hospital staff who had received texts with more information, identifying the location where the guy escaped police (at or very near the police station). That is not far away and is between here and the hospital. We could hear helicopter(s) overhead. Hubs got his pistol out. Twin B decided to risk driving home after his shift. We finally got an All Clear at 10:30.
Hello all!
Joe, that was a busy day! Good you had a decent turnout for the evening's group. What kind of restaurant food was it?
Tweety, Mexican food sounds good! As does your time at the beach (always)!
We had a quiet day yesterday, then took the instruments to our friends' house, and met with others for pizza and dips and cake and ice cream for two ppl who were there. There were a dozen of us. We ate inside, then after it cooled off a bit, transferred out to their newly-enlarged patio. We had two guitars and a mandolin, and dh on banjo, and just kinda played until time for cake. I did have one piece of pizza (minus the end of the crust, which I gave to dh), and some veggies and dip. No cake for me. They also served a rhubarb crisp, which looked yummy but I abstained. Got enough carbs from the vegetarian pizza! It was nice to chat together, and the evening cooled off enough so we could enjoy it all. We got home around 1030.
Today? keep out of the heat!
Have a good day!
80 degrees and quite comfortable. dd and her 2 boys came over yesterday afternoon and stayed for dinner. Eldest grandson told us about his trip to the Galapagos. What a great trip for a soon to be 15 year old. Today, I cleaned out my car and went to the store for snacks for our annual trip to Mt. Rainier. We are going to spend 2 nights in the historical in at Paradise, and do some hikes. I also spent some time revised the lists of the roses planted at our demo garden. We had to quickly move roses this Spring, and replaced some that had died, so the lists needed some catching up.
Here is a past photo around the area called Paradise in Mt. Rainier National Park:

Hi Tweety
Stars hope you hear from your SIL soon
Rose Queen I hope that the heat wave eases up
Yesterday was busy. Went out for coffee and then dropped the car off for some maintenance. Picked up a rental and drove out to do some birdwatching, but after about 10 minute or so realized it was too hot and few birds around, so I headed home. Picked up the car and had lunch with dad. Then did some shopping and went out to dinner with the over 50 group. Decent sized crowd, about 7
Slept a lot better last night. Today will be going to church early as I'll be ushering. Afterwards will do the cooking for the week and exercise. And will start packing for the family reunion next week
Will be a warm day here in the low 90s
