Good morning!
Joe, hope you're feeling better.
Those Stouffer's lasagnas are actually not too bad.
I eat a very plant-forward diet but nothing is off limits. I find this "flexitarian" approach better for my personality type. There are times when I stress eat and I need to do better. Friday for example there were chocolates at work and ate way too much and then stopped at Taco Bell. Not good. But if I said "I can't every eat chocolate or Taco Bell" that would guarantee that I would and beat myself up over it.
Today I'm going to find something to do with some tofu I have in the refrigerator. Yesterday I wanted lentils and to my surprise I didn't have any. I always have lentils. Made some curried chickpeas instead and they were good.
Yesterday was okay. I had a long two hour nap, so I went to bed late. Met best friend at the beach and it was nice. Evening times are not so hot at the beach. Lately I've been thinking about leaving Florida when I retire over the politics. But I'm not going to make any decisions until that time comes. I love Florida and even though it's hot and muggy, it has nice Summer evenings at the beach, and amazing winters. I'd hate to lose that. Things might change politically.
Hello all!
Joe, that's a bummer, that only one other person showed up for the activity. I'm sure your efforts were worthwhile. Hope you were well able to rest afterwards. And I did sleep better last night, thanks for asking.
Tweety, love the beach photos. Yanno, Palm Springs does NOT have beaches like that! You have to drive a couple hours, to reach any beaches. I hope the political environment changes so you don't feel obliged to uproot yourself, when the time comes.
No real plans today, and it will be hot as ever. Have a good one!
We made it to Boston. We stopped at Montpelier to grab a quick bite for breakfast. The aftermath of the flooding they had was quite evident. Many of the little places to eat were closed: because Sunday or flood damage? Not sure. I grabbed a quick snap of the Capitol. I will be glad to get home and get some space.
Nephew has come and gone, even including a visit to his paternal grandmother who is in an assisted-living facility a half hour away. I sent a few things for my sister -- the rest of our mother's china, her senior picture and an 8x10 childhood picture that have been on the wall with mine and my brother's. It felt sort of sad to break us up ?. Now I need to send my brother's to him. My stomach is still sore. I want to eat but am a little afraid to.
Joe, it's too bad you didn't have better turnout for your workday. It was wise of you to get some rest after all that.
Tweety, nice beach photos. Hubs regrets letting his parents' place on the Treasure Coast of Florida go. It would have been a good place to retire to, albeit I'm not fond of crowds. The politics there may change. I don't like the politics here and would rather be near water. Unless we win a lottery (that we don't play) I'm not sure we'll be able to go somewhere we would like to be. It looks more and more as if stepdaughter's kids are the only grandchildren we will have. Sometimes I think about moving back to Indiana but then I remember winters. LOL. But those might be better if I didn't have to get out to work all the time.

Tweety enjoy your day off
Dianah hope you sleep better tonight
Ado I hope you feel better
Was up early to meet the environmental group to do some work at a nearby forest preserve. Only 1 other person from the group showed up, though others had volunteered to work on the site too. Was not too hot but very humid, was exhausted by the time we were done. Not sure if I'll lead the group again, it's extra work in addition to the physical work
Came home to take a shower and changed. Stomach was acting up, but had lunch with dad anyway. Did some grocery shopping, then watch most of Svengoolie and had a good stuff drink, along with a fair amount of chocolate
Which was a mistake, as I woke up in the early morning gagging from bad reflux. I had taken antacids but took them too early so they had worn off by then. Was able to get back to sleep but didn't sleep that great the rest of the night.
Today have to get to church early and leave late due to hosting coffee hour. Was going to join yet another gay group this evening for dinner downtown but realized I'm just too tired. Will relax tonight instead
Will also work on some diet modifications. I tend to veer from a healthy low fat high fiber vegetarian almost vegan diet to massive amounts of junk food. Which suggests my current diet is too restrictive and I'm periodically rebelling. Might have to ease up on the vegetarian thing so I won't be as tempted to rebel.
Will be a nice day today, 80 and I think it shouldn't be too humid
