Tweety that sounds like a great review

Stars glad you were able to find the notebook

Dianah hope you get more sleep tonight

NJ22 glad you're still testing negative

Ado that is odd that she couldn't get a seat with a reserved ticket

Was cloudy but rather humid yesterday morning when I was out with the environmental group.  Smaller group this time, 5 of us in addition to the site's other volunteers.  Rained a bit while we were out.  On the drive home found a tick on my neck, which I killed.  Undressed and took a shower when I got home,  thankfully no bites although I killed another tick on my pants.  Will need to use more repellent next time.  Thankfully these were dog ticks which don't carry Lyme disease

Afterwards was a fairly ordinary day.  Changed clothes, then went out to lunch with dad.  Washed the clothes in hot water, in case there were any other ticks I didn't see.  Skipped Svengoolie and watched A Shot in the Dark instead

Today going to church a bit early as I'm assisting this morning.  Afterwards will stop at the grocery store for some stuff for the 4th.  Will also do the cooking today as well

Will be cooler today, in the 70s, with rain and storms most of the day.  We can really use the rain

Good morning!

Once my now passed away dogs had ticks and must have got them on a walk because mostly they never get them.  Slowbro and Waffles have never had them.

I was going to put some money in savings account which I have online at USAA which is my emergency fund, and stash away for insurance fund, and noticed the interest rate is .06%.  It used to be .01%.  I can do better and opened up an online account that overs over 4%.   I ran into a glitch where it didn't sync with my USAA account or checking account and have to wait.  Oh well......

The sheets are still in the dryer and I swear I'll go fold them when I'm done here.

Nothing much happening today.  Will mow the grass and do some cooking.

Hi. Another nice, sunny day here. it's 66 degrees and dh is complaining about the heat. I really think the humidity at 65% is what makes him so uncomfortable. Youngest ds and I are going to take the pickup and trailer down to a parking lot so I can practice backing up. And I will be packing clothes, and start packing food. Dd and I are going food shopping tomorrow. And I want to get a new set of sheets.

A few years ago when visiting Mt. Rainier, ds and I were hiking through some brush, and we turning back because there were so many bugs. 2 weeks later I noticed a bulls-eye rash on my neck. I don't remember seeing a tick, but they treated me for possible Lyme disease.

I feel a little bad about not going to see sis yesterday, but I needed a break. And in the slim chance that I might get covid, I felt like I needed to stay away. I'll check in with her later.

Annie, that was very kind of you to buy your niece a plane ticket. Geesh, that bus person seemed out of line.

Stay cool, all you people in those hot places!

Woke up in a pool of sweat, so I hopped into the shower right away; couldn't stand myself if I hadn't done so. Now I am clean and dry! ? and feel lots better! It is 98 degrees (or more) outside. BLICK-ICK-YECH! I am not a lover of summertime weather. Oh well, this season too shall pass.

Hubby went up to lay down in his bed, saying to wake him up when the game starts. Hope a 20 minute 'nap' will do, because the game starts shortly. OOPS! Never mind! He just called down to NOT wake him up for the start of the game. Okay, I can do that.

Braves won 7-0 yesterday; hope we continue to do well for this last game of three with the Marlins.

Going up to the kitchen to make another 1/2 cup of coffee. Then it'll be watching the ballgame and do crossword puzzles in the 'down' moments (commercials, and 'blah-blah' commentary).

j22, I'd have to practice backing up a trailer, too. Not sure I'd do very well. I remember when I was young, going to a large, empty parking lot to practice skidding on snow and ice. Now that was FUN! And very helpful later when I got my driver's license!

I also remember seeing a FULL tick wallowing on my bedroom floor when I was...oh, maybe 7 or 8 years old....and SCREAMING! I hate those things! Now I don't scream about any insects; I declare in a loud, sneering tone; "STUPID BUG!" and squash them. Well, except for 'Jumping Spiders'; I'm sure some of you remember me talking about how cool looking they are. I don't squash them, as they are good bug-eaters.

Game has started....

Later, y'all!

Ho-hum. Guess who 'ran out' of his favorite drink? I knew where there was one little bottle, so I gave it to him and said, "You're probably going to feel bad tonight if that's all there is. But if you are going to be an alcoholic, you have to keep better track of your supplies." He said, "Yeah, I know"  ....But apparently he doesn't. If he goes into the DT's during the morning hours, I reckon it'll be time to call the ambulance. Let him holler if he wants to.

Once again, is this the third or fourth time (?) he has told me not to do the dishes, that he would do them? I ended up doing them, of course, and he doesn't even remember himself telling me that he'd do them. We were out of clean silverware so I had to wash some. Now he can't even manage to use the microwave to heat up some supper for himself.

I'm thinking of finding a costume shop to get a little lace apron and a doily to wear on my head and start saying "Yes, sir." and "No, sir." Or maybe I'll call him "JACK" because he doesn't do sh** around her, anymore.

He also keeps telling me that he needs to see the eye doctor about his glasses. My answer? "I know. You better make an appointment." --But a couple of days ago he tripped going upstairs and fell on his face, and bent, or RE-bent the frames, so that would've meant another pair of glasses.

He was afraid that tomorrow is the 4th, but I told him the 4th is on Tuesday, so if he wants to stock up on his poison, he'll have to get up tomorrow morning and go to the ABC store, because he knows *I* won't do it for him. anymore.

Thanks for listening and shaking your heads while I shake mine. I never in a million years would have expected this to be part of my life. It totally sucks.

Happy Sunday!

Went to church this morning and sang with the choir. The director didn't make it due to car trouble but we did OK.

Got home and Hubs had cleaned up the kitchen. I really don't understand why, with all these other adults around, the kitchen should always fall to me. Hubs is of the opinion that the person who cooked *made* the mess and should be the one to clean it up. Twins A and B seem to be of the opinion that because they work at their part-time jobs and do their own laundry that should be enough. Harumph.

Stepdaughter made it home although delayed a little over an hour in Dallas.

It is 91° at 7 pm. Hubs wants to get the sailboat on the lake in OKC to watch fireworks on the 4th. He arranged a sitter for his mom from noon to midnight. Then thought he'd like to go up in the morning and get all the prep work done then come home and shower and go back for a late afternoon sail. Better than being out in the heat all day.

Now he is asking if I'll go to the store for a few things. And I need to do the never-ending laundry chore so I'll have something to wear to work this week

Hello all!  I slept better last night, thank you!

Ugh, 95% humidity????  I'd be staying INSIDE.  It's 92 out there now, but 27% humidity -- and I'm INside.

We did a Zoom call this afternoon, with the two ds's and dil.  It was nice to catch up.

Not much else going on.  No Stars, hope your team wins, and that the game is interesting.

Ado, how many ppl are in "your" choir?  Did someone else direct or did y'all just know what to do?  Bet it sounded good!

nursej22, good for you, practicing with the trailer.  Where will you be going with it (did you say and I missed it)??

Tweety, didja fold those sheets from the dryer?

Hello Joe!  Hope you got the cooking done to your satisfaction.

Have a good evening!

dianah, this morning we had 8 people to sing, which is about average. We were missing our 2 tenors. And our pastor is on vacation. She usually sings alto with me. We actually break for Summer but thought it would be nice to sing today since our former pastor and his wife were "doing" the service. So we pulled out something we know pretty well. The accompanist is good at keeping us from dragging the tempo down too much. I've never been taught anything about directing but used to lead a children's choir at our church in Indiana back in the day so I was tempted to try to lead us. But not that tempted.

I was going to get up and process some laundry but Binx the cat is lying on my feet. Who am I to disturb a sleeping cat?

Ado~  ? That used to be the excuse my sister and I used on each other ... if the doorbell rang or the phone rang, one or the other of us could sing out, "I'VE GOT A CAT ON MY LAP!" so the one without the cat had to answer the door or the phone.  ?
