Stars I hope she was quiet most of the day

Dianah I just saw that same episode last night

Hi Tweety

Rose Queen I'm fond of the fall as well

Yesterday went well.  Did bird watching at the Arboretum in the morning.  Ran an errand or two and then met with the over 50 group at a local Cheesecake Factory.  Had a good time, 4 out of 5 people signed up showed up.  Will be doing a similar event next month

The cat hasn't vomited since I switched her back completely to her old food, so thankfully that issue is solved

Had a little problem sleeping last night, had to get up, take some valerian, read a bit and turn on the fan and I went back to sleep.  Might have been a little warm, or might have been a bit overexcited

Today will take it easy this morning and pack the few remaining things before going to pick up dad and his girlfriend for the drive to Indiana

Going to be pretty good weather today, mid 80s, though I think tomorrow Indiana may see some rain

Woke up at 10:30, and decided after I fed Momo, I would go back to bed. Kind of briefly chastised myself, told myself I needed to just go ahead and wake up. I had 1/2 cup of coffee and now I am on-line....but I don't know if I'll go back to sleep or if I'll get up and do some of the things  had planned to do yesterday. But last night I did get 3 large bags full of things to toss out, and loaded them onto the trailer for BiL to take to the dump.

My new mattress sleeps very well. I don't have near the number or severity of the aches and pains in my left shoulder and my hips in the AM's, that had become 'normal' for me. Aaaaah!

Yeh, so tomorrow is my 75th birthday (that-does-not-compute!). What am I HOPING to get for my birthday? NO invitations to SiL's house for supper and cake. I am kind of a humbug about 'holidays'  in that I am perfectly content to be leave it be, and not have to go anywhere and be sociable.

I'm going to set the laptop aside and close my eyes and see what my body (brain) wants to do....sleep more or get up and get into some of the things I'd like to see done.

Heads or tails? I'll let ya know later.....

Hello!

Joe, safe travels and I hope you have a good time on your trip!  How long will you be gone?  4 out of 5 showed up, who signed up to the outing last night?  That's pretty good!  What a relief the cat has stopped vomiting.

Hello Rose!  I an imagine the dog-walker would shine a flashlight (torch for you Brits/Aussies) on the noises of someone rummaging around in a garden at night!

No Stars, it's good to hear the mattress is improving your sleep!  An early Happy Birthday (did you get my card?  Sent before I knew it was your BD!!)!

Today we meet at fiddler's house, to have a band practice.  Only three of the four band members will be there, but it will still be a valuable practice.  After practice we will go have some dinner, probably at the steakhouse.  I will be able to get some low-carb food there (they do a GREAT cajun chicken and steamed veggies).

Have a good day and evening!

Hey, it's me again.... I went back to sleep and woke up again at 1 PM! Now we are all up and dressed. I told Nannie what the weather report is, as I do every day, and she said, "Are we going to go out?" Uh, no, I hadn't planned on it. I know SiL said she was going to come over and get Nannie on Tuesday. That will have to suffice for Nannie!

But, I do need to run out and get coffee, as I only have decaf on hand and I want/need FULL-caff. However, I probably won't slip out until the Nannie-person dozes off.  It's 83 degrees, and going up to 87 degrees, the sun WAS shining, but it is now overcast. Humidity is a disgusting 80%, so we should expect some rain in a little while.

I have to strip Nannie's bed and change Momo's "toilet". Guess I might have to wash Nannie's bedding again. HUH! So, what else is new?

Anyway, I also need to go up to the kitchen and wash the dishes that I didn't wash yesterday.....or the day before? I am very good at blowing-off tasks and chores until I have to deal with them, and this is a "have-to-deal-with" situation.

Maybe my mood will change and maybe Nannie will do a deep-doze....and maybe I will do other things, too. But I see heel-marks from where I have been dragging my feet....

Meanwhile, back at the ranch.....

Hello. We are having a somewhat cooler day today, and the sky is overcast. Last night got very warm and sleep was a challenge. I rode 14 miles this morning to take advantage of the cooler temps. I've got laundry started, and am working in the garden, as usual. I've come in to get some bug spray, as I already have 3 new stings! I suppose I shall need to go get some groceries. dh brought home some premade salads last night because it was too hot to cook! And it was too hot to clean up the kitchen, so that will need tackling. Ugh.

Joe, safe travels on Sunday.  Glad the cat was doing better.

Rose, I used to be a night owl.  I  used to go to Walmart and the gym at 2AM.  I wonder if I'll return to that pattern when/if I finally retire.

Stars, I called it.  I was reading your first post and said to myself "the next post will be she went back to sleep".   10:30 is way to early for you.  LOL.

Happy Birthday Stars!

Dianah, hope you had a nice rehearsal.

J22, that's a nice long bike ride.  I might get a bike when I retire to protect my knees as the bike riding weather is year around here.  But I also have bad bike karma, always getting flats or getting them stolen.  Haven't had a bike though in decades.

I was so intrigued by the Biden withdrawal that I forgot to post yesterday.  Work was okay.  Got quite busy at the end of the shift I didn't do my usual shift change "huddle".  When I announced I was going to pass on having a huddle, the night charge looked at me like I was an axe murderer.  She's my least favorite person at work.  Forget her.  I do have to send out a report to the manager, assist. manager and  charge nurses a daily report and one of the questions is "did you do safety huddle".  My answer:  No, as we had some shift change admissions and other things going on I chose to support the patients and team first.  I didn't clock out until 8:30.  I double and quadruple dare anyone giving me any sort of lecture on missing one huddle.

I checked my online bank account as I do quite often since I don't write checks or keep a register by hand and was shocked again to see it was payday.  It was a nice check as the final of my overtime bonuses were paid.  That was a fast two weeks.  Again, I'm happy to not live paycheck to paycheck but have been spending a lot of money lately and will be checking more often.

Anyway, I will be off for a few days and don't do charge nurse next week at all.
