Tweety I hope you can get down there to see her sooner if needed

Stars hope today was a quiet day for you

Ado that is odd that they're delaying follow up on the mass for after discharge

NJ22 that sounds like a nice hike

Did go to the Arboretum briefly in the morning, was cold and wet and drizzling.  After that ran an errand or two and then met my friend N for lunch at the Cheesecake Factory and then played indoor mini golf.  Rest of the day was quiet.  Did my dumbbell exercise routine for the first time, was surprised how tiring it was despite using light weights

Today will be quieter than expected.  Originally was going to skip church so I could attend the gay group's annual meeting.  But last week my dad told me I would be joining him and my sister in seeing a musical, White Christmas, as part of a Christmas gift.  I had thought this was just for dad but figured maybe I heard wrong.  So I cancelled my RSVP for the meeting.  Then last night was texting with my sister and found out I was correct, they had only been able to get enough tickets for them and my dad

Since it's too late to change my RSVP again I'm going to church instead.  There's a meeting after church about the music event next month, which I'll be volunteering at, so I'll attend. Before church will do the cooking and the meal prep.

Going to be colder today, in the low 30s might get some additional snow

Good morning!

Joe, too bad you couldn't get to the meeting but hope you have a nice day.

J22 that does sound nice.  Eagles are fascinating birds.

Going back to the gym seemed easy.  I didn't push myself hard but I did go back to the same weights I'd been lifting before.

I talked to my family yesterday.  Mom seemed okay and was having a good evening.  I suggested to my sister getting a hospice consult just so they could get into the system should they need it.  Her and dad were open to the idea, but my mother doesn't like when strangers come in.  Hopefully they don't procrastinate about it.  No one wants any treatment for anything at this point so hospice is a good option.  She is having multi system issues.

My former brother in law got married.  Unfortunately his wife as I told you was recently operated on for a brain tumor and was in a wheelchair.  This fulfills her wishes but also puts him as her decision maker ahead of her elderly mother and her adult children which is a good thing.  One of her daughters is in Canada and the other one has some emotional issues, and her other son is out of town with children.  She's in ICU having seizures and other complications and it doesn't look good.  So sad as they bother are really good lovely people.

Anyway, woke up and noticed I left some laundry in the wash (bathroom rug that Waffles used as a pee pad) and there were sheets in the dryer.

Booked a hot yoga class.  Hopefully like the gym I can ease back into the routine but will let my body be the guide.

Tomorrow is my 2nd cataract surgery. Today I gotta take a shower and wash my hair, but I can't do that until I get Nannie up and dressed and in her chair. 🙄 Even the dog is not entirely happy that Nannie always "comes first",  before any other plans can be taken care of. Sometimes SiL comes over on a Sunday to give Nannie a shower and 'do' her hair instead of waiting to do it tomorrow AM, but I haven't heard a word from her. It's nice she can do that, but I wouldn't mind a head's up because it affects MY so-called plans, too. I'd call her but she is probably at church; maybe I'll just send her a text asking about HER plans?....Yeah, think I'll do that now.

Yah-hahahaha! I knew I should leave her a text so I could know something one way or another! She just texted she had agreed to go into work today at the ABC store to do another inventory. Ppfftt! It figures.

It is crazy windy out there! I have to bundle Nannie into a warm coat and put her in the car, because Tinker is out of dog food again, and she needs to have something for tonight and tomorrow. I wish I didn't have to take N with me, but she is so dippy these days I don't dare leave her here. When she was eating her yogurts she put the cup down four times; I asked her if she was through eating and she only held up the cup, which I could not see the inside of. Nope, still half a cup, so EAT it! Three bites later, the same thing. I told her to FINISH it! Then I took Tinker outside. Nannie DID finish her yogurt AND her juice, setting the tray on the table beside her. Amazing.

Watched skating competition last night. The best skater is Ilia, a tall blonde guy who is very athletic and they call him The Quad God.....because in one program some time ago, he did 7 flawless quad jumps AND a backwards somersault during one skate on the ice.. Fabulous, and not 'full of himself' like some would be. Very chill guy; both of his parents were Olympic skaters, so he's got skating in his blood and started at a VERY young age. And of course, Nannie was "not impressed" because "all he does is go around and around like all the other skaters."  Obviously she doesn't know what hard work that kind of skating is! Too bad for her, not being able to appreciate the athleticism, determination, and artistry, and the TIME that takes to get to that level. I believe he came out something like 25 points (or a few more?)  ahead of anyone else's scores.

Well, I am already feeling exhausted. Nannie has a cold (you can tell by her deeper voice) so I have taken my cold prevention supplements, Vit C, Zinc, and Echinnacea (sp?) and will take them a few more times this afternoon and evening, because I DON'T want to pick up ANY of her germs.

Okay, ugh-ugh-ugh, here I go getting Nannie ready for a ride.

Too bad about the mix-up, Joe. Hope you enjoy your day, anyway.

J22, that sounds fun and interesting. We went to an eagle talk at a state park near home a few years ago and it was interesting but we didn't see any eagles.

I was able to read the notes from the EGD which mentioned a "small mass or sessile polyp" and said pathology reports were benign. Sister isn't interested in eating and I don't know what to do about that. The call light system's lights outside her door are colorful today because it's her birthday.

Stars, I know it means spending more money, but have you thought about using Door Dash or something similar for times when you really need something but don't want to drag Nannie out?

Specializes in RETIREDMed nurse in med-surg., float, HH, and PDN.

Nah, I don't even know what door-dash charges. I had to use a check anyway, because I don't get cash until tomorrow or Tuesday, and I have put a hold on my charge cards. All I could do for the door-dash driver would be to smile and say, 'Thank you very much', but somehow I don't think that would be acceptable!

Just as I opened the door to go get my car, Nannie said something to me and I hesitated in the doorway, and don't you know that little stinker Tinker dashed right out the door and took off running! The kid across the street heard me calling for her and came out to help me get her back. When we went down in their backyard where she had gone and we didn't see her anywhere, he said he was going to go out front and check again. He saw her cross the street, heading into OUR backyard, so he went around the right side of the house while I went around the left side of the house. (a lot slower because of my gypsies). Little known to me, I had not shut the back door tight, and with the wind being so strong, it had blown open, and the kid came around the house and said Tinker already went in through the open back door and was inside! Twenty minutes of 'chasing her' and yelling her name and searching, and now I am even MORE exhausted. Thank God she did not get hit by a car or take off any further away than she previously had the last time she ran off, when she slipped out of the harness. She was having a REALLY terrific time running on "full-tilt-boogie", you could see her smiling as she ran around and around. I, on the other hand, was somewhat overwrought. But all's well that ends well. WHEW!

Nannie was happy to go for a ride and kept talking about how pretty everything was outdoors. That was the gist of it, anyway. I just ignored her except for doing the "Uh-huh" responses. It didn't even take me ten minutes to get in and out of the store, so it was short errand.

It is 3:30 PM now and though I do not, as a rule, take naps, I am going to sit here on the sofa and close my eyes for a little while.

Ado, hope your sister improves soon.

I've seen vids of Ilia Malinin, he's on a whole other level of amazement.

Door Dash isn't too expensive but then you feel obligated to tip the driver, which you can do on the app.  It's a bad habit.  I've used it about four times for dinner and wind up paying $30 for a cheeseburger and fries from Beef O'Brady's and same for a small pizza.  But then again I don't eat McDonalds or Domino's.  LOL

Glad Tinker was safe.  Hate when that happens.  Good luck with your cataract surgery tomorrow!

Today our "fake Spring" ends and another Winter occurs.  Was going to go to the beach but it was sprinkling some and just had some coffee and conversation with best friend.

We are home. We took our time driving home, stopped for breakfast at an actual restaurant, rather than grabbing a muffin at a coffee stand.

I need a little break from Dh constantly correcting everything I say. He is in his office, I am snuggling with the dogs.

Hello all!

No Stars, I'm glad Tinker had enough presence of mind to go back inside the house, after her devil-may-care dash to freedom!  It is SO frustrating to try to round up a little rebel like that.   I hope you rested a little this afternoon.  Hope tomorrow's cataract surgery goes as smoothly as the other one did.

Joe, glad you got out a little, in spite of the temperatures.

Ado, I hope your sister rallies.  It's hard to get someone to eat who just plain doesn't want to/doesn't feel like it.  Glad the bx was benign.

Tweety, glad you had a good workout (finally, eh?).  So sad about your BiL's wife.

We had a quiet day yesterday, and had talked about driving up to the mountains today.  Kinda squashed that, after I didn't sleep well, and plus it is windy today -- which increases the chill factor.  Dh doesn't do well in the cold.  So, I got fuel in the car and went to the grocery store, and now just finished making some dal (red lentils, Indian-style).  We will have that (and some to freeze) for supper.

I have an appointment to get the car serviced, plus for an inspection for some recall thingy.  It will likely be there all day, will have dh pick me up.

Not much else going on here.  My friend S and her family (all three of the siblings and their families) are in Steamboat Springs for their annual ski vacation.  I texted her NOT to break anything!!

Have a good evening!
