Stars I hope the pain stays away

Crunch that sounds a much more relaxing career

Tweety glad the roof is done

Ado I hope Binx improves, sometimes my cat goes for a day or two without eating

TMB I think my cousin's dog is about 12 and has joint issues too, I think he is getting injections which help

Yesterday was fairly quiet, went out bird watching but only a little while due to the cold.  Ran a few errands and had lunch with dad.  Watched Svengoolie for a bit although skipped the end of the show.  Fairly normal Saturday

Cat is doing better, no vomiting for the last few days.  We'll see if this trend holds up, otherwise she seems fine

Not much planned for today, have some chores/preparations for this morning, prior to church.  After church I'll do the cooking for the week.  Nice to have a normal weekend after the holidays

Going to continue to be colder, in the mid 20s, with snow expected this evening and tomorrow

I discovered, yesterday, that my 8 year old grandson is tickled by Svengoolie. We shared a good laugh at the "horror".

If it was Abbott and Costello (I think that's what Joe said) I'm sure an 8-yr-old would be quite amused.

The wind is howling and the temp has dropped to 26. Forecast is 15 by 8 am tomorrow.

Good point about masking for air travel. I'll be flying to Fort Myers in mid Feb.

It was definitely Abbott and Costello.  He giggled continuously.  It was wonderful.

Gouda Aphterrnoon~

Well, it was a surprise when I got up a while ago and saw Nannie sitting in her chair....all proudly dressed in what she had on yesterday.....OVER her pajamas and minus her disposable undergarments. Thank goodness there's always a chux on her chair-seat! Her hair looks like a haystack. I'm not sure when I will take her in the bathroom to rearrange her outfit; but no one is coming over and 'we' aren't going out. But I do have to make sure she isn't in a puddle of pee, so, sooner or later I'll have to pop her balloon about dressing herself, and get some dry things on her, minus the pj's.

Nothing 'crucial' to take care of today, otherwise. I am having my second cup of coffee, this is Venenzualan (sp!)  'medium-dark-roast'. It's not bad; I just got it to have a taste-test, and it'll do, though not my favorite, I do like KONA blends.

Speaking of taste tests, I saw this on the dog-foods shelf but don't feel the urge to buy any.....I've seen duck and deer, but I actually saw a can that was of "Kangaroo" meat. I do remember years ago searching for an odd X-mas present for my odd older brother....and I got him a can of Kangaroo-Tail Soup. Opinion is that it was fairly hideous tasting, but that was back in the day when ordinary Campbell's Soup was about the only other choice of soups.

Nannie is frowning at nothing (staring at the floor) and I am hoping, as usual, that she dozes off for a while. But, I prolly ort to get her in the bathroom and changed into something else and tame down the hairdo of bed-head. One horrorscope I always read is hers, and it is so amusing when it talks about romance seeking her out and/or something about her career. Not exactly pertinent, I'd say! 🙄

Today will be cloudy and 48-ish; overnight we are to get the start of  LOTS of rain to keep going on through to Monday. Better remember to turn on the dehumidifier this evening. It's kind of loud, so I hope not to have to listen to Nannie's whispery, peeping soprano voice over the sound of it, and the TV volume will need to creep up to be audible. Don't know why I turn it up for Nannie when more than half the time she does not correctly deduce what is going on, and often, if I react to something by laughing, I have to explain to her, because she asks: "What did they say?" or "What's so funny?"

Looking forward to a quiet day. I generally don't turn the TV on during daytime hours unless she is really restless and needs to be distracted. Otherwise the only other sound aside from an occasional cough or sneeze, is BLESS'ED silence!

All for now.....

Once when the boys and I helped sort donations after the letter carriers' food drive, the oddest thing we found was canned alligator. 🤢

The morning at the hospital wasn't bad at all. Only 5 patients and we had 2 nurses so I had 2 patients. Everyone was fairly crabby. You'd think they were sick or something. The ER doc bought us all Starbucks coffees that he ordered online and had delivered.

Got home to a sleeping household so I heated up some corn chowder for myself.

rain, rain, rain. not a huge total, but steady dripping. I could not sleep last night. I finally dozed off around 4, then up at 6 to go to breakfast. the dogs wanted out at 2, started yapping furiously at deer, then came in covered in mud.

dh started a new med and has been extra tired, so no eagle watching.

UGH! Nannie just wanted to get up to the bathroom again....the third time in 20 minutes. I told her 'we' were not going to go through what we did the other night, with her telling me NINE times she felt like she had to poop. This time I checked her digitally and there is NOTHING there! It's kind of early for supper but I could go ahead and prepare something for her to eat, to give her gut "something to talk about." When I did that after her 9th visit to the bathroom the other day, she ate everything, and watched TV for 3 hours, went to bed, got up the next day, and went through the entire next day.....still no poop. She doesn't feel hungry, she said, but asked if I could just give her a cookie and some water, so that's what I did. Apparently there will be no sleeping this afternoon.

She just showed me she has two ....pant legs (!) ...... that go all the way down her legs to her feet, and two arms with sleeves that go from her shoulders to over her knuckles (if she stretches them), and then she pointed again to her shoes and counted for each foot/shoe: "See there? Two, four, six, eight; and the other one has the same: two, four, six, eight. See?" I said Uh-huh and nodded my head yes; I guess she was counting the grommets the laces go through,  but she couldn't tell me 2-4-6-8  WHAT?  She also said each shoe has  a sole underneath. (That's a good thing, I guess? 🙄)

I went upstairs and told her I would be down in less than ten minutes, and please don't try to get out of the chair on her own. She said okay. I was only upstairs for 7 minutes, and when I came back downstairs, she told me that while I was gone my husband came by, but didn't stay very long. Confusion? Hallucinations? Who knows? If he was supposed to appear to "take her home" he didn't do a very good job of it. Instead, she wanted to get up to the bathroom again, because her body felt kind of....she didn't know what, but denied she felt like she had to pee or poop. I asked why she wants to get up to the bathroom if she didn't feel like she had to do anything? She said that maybe she should get up "just in case". I said maybe she should just sit on the commode for the rest of the evening. No response. And anyway she just last week finished off some antibiotics for a urinary tract infection. But I'm going to try my best not to become overly irritated by all her upping and downing this time.

While we were sitting here not doing a thing or talking, she suddenly asked me if I need her to help me! Do what? I'm looking the TV I just at that moment turned on and am looking on the list of channels for something we can watch. So I found the HGTV Hometown, the particular program they are showing now that we have seen 4 times already, but she doesn't remember. I will get my puzzle book out and occupy part of my mind with Word-Search. Maybe she will forget about the bathroom because she will be busy trying to explain to me what 'they' are doing on this show, even though I am right here with her and can see and hear the same thing she is watching and hearing. OY-OY-OY-EI-YI-YI !!

And the beat goes on.

Good evening.

Had a decent day at work again.  One of my better weekends in a long long time.

Being sick or in pain is not a reason to be crabby to your nurse.  I get it, you're not in the best mood, but act like you were raised right.

I know someone like that.  I don't think he can help himself and his family and friends are becoming increasingly distant. I told him a year ago that if he didn't rethink his approach he was going to die alone.

I agree, Tweety. One of mine is a patient we get from time to time and he is always grumpy and complaining. But one of the others (not mine) was also complaining a lot. And even my "nice" one griped a little bit.
