Tweety that was Saturday ?

Stars I hope her mood improves

Ado glad you're feeling better

Busy day yesterday.  Too cold to do bird watching, so I did the remainder of the grocery shopping and got stuff for church coffee hour.  Later I had my dentist appointment,  then lunch with dad.  Then did some cleaning and stopped at the credit union.  Skipped Svengoolie and was going to watch Carmen but realized I had gotten the movie not the opera.  So watched a few Peanuts specials on Apple+ instead, and requested the opera along with the next book on my list from the library

Today will do the cooking in the morning, a lentil-chickpea soup, before church.  Will  head to  church a bit early to get set up for coffee hour, and stay a bit late to clean up.  Rest of the day should be quieter.  Will work on this week's shopping list, exercise, work on the dating apps a bit, and watch another episode of Outlander

Will be considerably warmer today, in the upper 50s.  Thankfully the snow from Friday has all melted

Good morning!

Joe, I did mean Saturday, but that's an oddity to me still.   Lentil chickpea soup sounds good.

Ado, hope you continue to improve.

Stars, that was nice of your SIL to do that cleaning.  Even though you're with Nannie all the time, it must be a relief to be getting so much help.

I enjoyed the play.  Afterwards we relaxed and had some coffee and decided to have Greek food for dinner after seeing the Japanese restaurant I wanted to try was closing at 7pm which are odd hours.

Nothing much going on today.  Reserved a spot at hot yoga for 11:00 and hope to not get stuck in traffic like the last time.

7pm does seem like an odd closing time for a restaurant. Hubs has gone to church but I stayed home, not wanting to share this virus, assuming that's what it is. Temp is down to almost normal so that seems a good sign. Had a slice of toast and watered-down grapefruit juice, the most I've had since Thursday evening. Tried a banana but it is too green to taste good.

Stars, I'm thrilled that your family has stepped up and helped in so many ways. And that they are so understanding and appreciative of what you have done and been through.

Enjoyed the Spike Jones lyrics. Ah, memories. ? A song that pops up in my brain more often than I should admit is the one about "my New Year's Resolution": "when my mother-in-law begins to scream and shout, through the window I would like to throw her out. I resolve not to do it, here is why-- I'm afraid of hitting someone passing by. "

Ado~ Can't throw MiL out the window, because her window is on the lower level of the house, which means I'd have to lift her up, as the window sill is shoulder level. Then she would just roll out onto the ground under the hedges. Too much work and not very exciting.

So, I went out before noon to go pick up my refills at WalMart, and there was NO line at the pharmacy! But....then when I was ringing out my groceries, the register crapped out, and I had to gather back up my stuff and go to another register. All told, I was back here an hour later than I expected to be.

Nannie had been up and made her bed; she'd taken off her britches and put on a second set of the pull-ups and pads, over the wet ones, and got back onto her bed. I haven't checked to see if the bedclothes are wet. Every morning it's something different! She said she didn't sleep well, but who knows if that's the truth or her imagination?

I can't remember if I said anything here about finding water on the linoleum under the kitchen sink last night. No 'active' dripping, though. I think the faucet-set on top is loose, and water came down from there; the whole shebang is very old and probably needs replacing. BiL said he didn't think he could come over to see about it until tomorrow. I will go up and empty out under the sink, to see if I can find the culprit that let the water flow there instead of down the drain. I put towels down underneath there, but maybe one of those plastic tubs the hospital gives patients would be better. We'll see. I also have to empty out the sink, which doesn't have a whole lot of stuff in it, but then it will be ready for when BiL is ready to play plumber.

Under-sink is cleared out, and I put three little plastic tubs under the pipes. Then I did all the dishes.....no leaks occurred at all! But the faucet thingy is unstable, you can tip it back and forth so there is a 1/4 to 1/2 inch gap; so that is probably where the leakage came from. Don't think it will take a great deal of labor to change that out. Plus I will have BiL put a new sprayer there, too, as the one that is there actually has no tubing, thus, is non-functioning.

Oh gosh, my hearing appt is tomorrow afternoon @ 3:30 PM. Won't be able to PURCHASE any new hearing aids, and the old ones....I quit wearing them. It's annoying because they don't want to stay in my ears, even when hooked over the top of my ears. And I hear my hair alllll the time because of the hair rubbing against the outer amplifier. Maybe a different style would work better, but I dunno; if they can't stay inside my ears, I'll just get one of those ear-horns like they used in the olden days!

Rain, rain, rain. It paused long enough for me to walk home from breakfast at the diner, which is all uphill and a good workout. At least, it gets my heart rate up, and I get warm enough to unzip my coat and slip off my gloves. I've been poking around, a little laundry, get the paper and cardboard recycling outside. I have a pot roast in the oven. It occurred to me that one of my heart meds maybe contributing to me feeling tired, gaining weight, and feeling achy. I am due to see cardiology soon and I will ask about it. It is frustrating to push to keep active, avoid most carbs,  yet grow out of my clothes and feel stiff and achy. dh asked me if one of his meds might be causing cold sores, which made me wonder about my meds.

Yesterday I helped other Master Gardeners clean plant pots so they can be filled with seedlings for the upcoming plant sale. This is a big fundraiser that we all pitch in to help with. It was fun to see some of the other gardeners. Afterwards I walked around our display garden to see what was emerging. Not much, except for daffodils and snowdrops.

Ugh, Annie, that bug you have sounds miserable. I had a phenergan shot for nausea once, and it hurt like heck. And didn't seem to help.

Joe, I don't think I ever had a dentist do appointments on Saturday. Heck, my dentist isn't even open on Fridays. But she's a mom with little kids, so that seems like a good idea for her.

Close at 7? Weird.

Hello all!

Ado, hope you continue to feel better.  Who knows why we get what we get, when we get it???

No Stars, seems that's the way it goes with errands: gone longer than we anticipate, things take longer than we expect!  Good job prepping under the sink for BiL to "play plumber," as you said (LOL!).  Dh and I are NOT handy, especially with plumbing issues.  Hope BiL is somewhat handy that way.  Oh, and dh got hearing aids years ago, and HATED them.  They seemed to pick up ppl talking at a table BEHIND us at a restaurant, better than the conversations at our table!  He put them away and never used them again.

nursej22, I am interested to see what your Cardiologist says about your meds r/t your concerns.

We are in Prep Mode, as we leave tomorrow for Lake Havasu City, Arizona, for the Bluegrass on the Beach festival.  House-sitter is all arranged, and I cooked some soup and a pasta dish today.  Got groceries before cooking.  All that remains is to schlepp supplies out to the RV (parked in front of the house), and then pack and carry the duffel bags out to the RV in the morning.  We hope to leave by 9 or 10.  Festival bands start on Friday, we will be there early to enjoy jamming with others who arrive early.  Weather should be nice, in the mid- to high 70's.  I am not bringing the laptop, but I think I can peek in on this thread via my phone.  We are bringing the dog, of course.  We will surely miss our cats.

Have a good evening!

Save travels Dianah.

My dentist is sometimes closed on Mondays.  He's the sole dentist there.  The practice I recently went to emergently the day after Christmas for the root canal and crown has several dentists and more hours.  But I'll stick with the guy I've had for several years now.

I hope to avoid medications.  I don't seem to be having ill effects from nightly trazodone or PRN clonazepam.   BP was a weird 118/85 and I took it twice.
