Tweety that can make one reflect on one's good health, to have so many people you know dealing with major illness

NJ22 a flower and garden show sounds nice

Stars I think if they stayed with you for a day or two they would appreciate the difficulty you face in caring for her

Dianah I think I used to make a similar dessert back when I was doing the South Beach diet

Cake turned out pretty good yesterday, the store bought frosting was better than I expected too.  Sliced and froze it for later.  Then had lunch with dad as ususal

In the evening had the event with the over 50 group.  Went well, 6 people total, everyone showed up, and people seemed to like the location.  Will likely do the same next month at the same location

Thinking I might get a passport instead of upgrading my driver's license.  The IL drivers license will no longer be accepted by airlines after May as proof of ID, unless you upgrade it with some additional documentation.  However doing so involves making an in person appointment about 2 weeks in advance, and taking at least a half day off work.  And navigating their very slow online reservation system.  So I may get a passport instead, which the airlines will also accept, and which won't require dealing with the DMV

Today will be serving as usher and reader at church.  Will do some cooking beforehand.  Afterwards have a meeting at the library.

Warmer day today, in the mid 40s.  Will get up to the 50s later this week.  Hopefully Winter is finally past

Good morning!

Having a passport is a good idea.

We enjoyed the theater yesterday.  A Sondheim play "Road Show" that was very well done.  I like this little theater.  The audience was an older crowd and I felt young.  LOL

Heading to yoga and don't much else going on.  Weather is nice.

Joe, a passport does sound easier to get than all the rigamarole required for the enhanced-ID drivers license.  Good your cake turned out so well; I may freeze the chocolate torte I made, as dh just announced he wants to lose a couple pounds so likely won't eat much of it.  And yeah, I don't 'need' it either!

Tweety, glad you enjoyed the play!

Hello to all, not much planned for today, have a good one!

So how did that torte turn out? I would have a hard time not trying some of it.

I remember my mother lamenting that she and my dad had outlived so many friends that they used to get together with. We've experienced only a little of that so far, though Hubs still can't get over having lost both of his siblings.

It's 65 and sunny. I sat outside for a bit but if I were to stay I'd need to grab a sweatshirt. I'll need to leave for my book club mtg in a couple of hours. I believe we're going to a dessert shop.

I was reading The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah and was about halfway through when the library app returned it. There's a waiting list so I had to place a hold again. 😒

Hubs and I watched Chariots of Fire today. It was good and I enjoyed the snippets of Gilbert and Sullivan operetta.

So if it sounds like I haven't accomplished anything this weekend, it's because I haven't. 😉

Torte is tasty tho it didn't rise.  Dunno why.  Oh, and I folded in 1/2 cup of chocolate chips before baking.  Now they are like little tasty surprises.  🙂

We are home from the big city, whew. It was tiring driving in the heavy pounding rain. I felt the car hydroplane a few times. I didn't sleep great at the hotel, so I plan to turn in early. Dh has gone to pick our beastly little dogs from dd.
Joe, get your passport application in soon. I predict with government services cutbacks, there may be a delay.
