Good morning!
Joe, with all you do I find it hard to believe you would have feelings of not doing enough. But yeah, after a break up there is some emptiness to fill and to feel.
Stars, hepatic encephalopathy is a thing with liver failure and ammonia levels. That and bringing drunk doesn't help his mental status. Sorry.
J22, how cool to be starting a new gardening adventure.
Ado glad you didn't get called in.
Dianah, hope you got to see the play and enjoyed it.
Last fever was a low grade 100.0 and I'm feeling pretty much on the mend. Although I said that already. Will make some chickpea soup but need to head to the grocery store for an onion and stuff. Will go to the gym but take it easy. Shouldn't be too crowded.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Ugh, it's cold! Brrrrr! 26, but it "feels like" 11, because of the wind. And it's snowing and drifting. I brought in the hummingbird feeder to thaw, and re-attached the little heater to it. And the juncos are busy at the other feeders and suet. We had a pleasant surprise at the diner this morning. The owners told each of the waitresses to comp. a meal to table, and our waitress chose ours! We still left a generous tip. She always remembers our usual orders and our coffee cups stay filled. I am trying to talk myself into making cookies. I think the cold weather is making my hands achy.
Annie, I'm glad you didn't get called in and hopefully you can decompress this weekend.
Joe, my goodness, you do so much! I feel rather lazy sometimes reading your posts. I keep trying to exercise, but just can't seem to create a routine.
Tweety good to see your fever is coming down.
Hi Dianah, did you enjoy the play?
NoStars, I hope your day is uneventful, except for the book you are reading.
I'll attach 2 photos. One to get the whole tree and one with Gma in her recliner.
J22, Master Gardener sounds ambitious but interesting! You reminded me that I have a suet cage in the tree in the back yard. I'd forgotten about it. I'll buy a block next time I'm out.
Joe, you do a lot but you have had a life change so maybe your feeling is related to that. I don't know how well you can see the stockings in my pictures but I made the 2 cross-stitched ones and the quilted one. The cross-stitch I did when the boys were little so probably 25 years ago. It was a lot of work and I was quite done with cross-stitch after that. Don't know what I was thinking when I bought these little ornament kits.
Cantata went well. Twin A left early for work and Twin B got home early this morning from work so Twin B was left in charge of Gma while we went to church even though he was really sleepy and works again tonight.
I'm going to try to make myself do a little baking today (along with laundry and meal planning).
Hubby fell down the 9 stairs to the den, knocked over the table beside the sofa and landed in the back of his head. His eyes were kind of flipping or rolling repeatedly and his mouth was moving and he was making a noise like "Uh-uh-uh-uh" I batted him on the chest and asked him, "Are you okay? Do you hurt anywhere?" (This was while I was on the phone with 911) Blood was making a puddle under his head, not huge, but still scary. The 911 op asked me if he could move his head, and he did, a little, so she told me to put a clean towel under his head. The first responder who lives nearby and is always here in less than five minutes, came in, talked to him, asked if he was diabetic, and hubby said he was not diabetic. Anyway, believe it or not, when I told an ambulance guy that he was supposed to go to the doc tomorrow to talk about rehab. The guy said to me to be ready to get a call to come pick him up later, after the doctor put stitches in the back of his head. Apparently this area hospital is dealing with all the Covid and resp virus and flu, and I don't know if they have beds or not. But if he comes home tonight he is definitely going to the doc appt tomorrow afternoon and I am going to emphatically say that he needs IN-PATIENT rehab, and not just 5 days-worth, either. I'm through with following him around to make sure he doesn't fall. He didn't seem particularly smashed today so I didn't follow him down to the den, I figured (wrongly) that he didn't need me as a shadow this time.
Anyway, that was the event of the day. I'll let you know later if they call me to tell me to come and get him.

Whose bass is in the corner, Ado? ? ???
The bass belongs to Hubs. He has a standup bass in the corner in the dining room. My piano is in the corner opposite the Christmas tree.

Cool! We still have an upright piano, that no one ever uses. Our standup bass is in front of it. The bass is dh's, it is a 1930's Alcoa Aluminum bass. Only 500 were ever made, and of those about 300 were re-purposed for the war effort. This one has been restored and kinda "hopped up." Dh loves it, has soft strings on it that don't hurt his fingers.
Keep playing that piano, Ado! I won't show the rest of the house, with dh's 6 or so banjos, 2 mandolins, one dobro, my 3 guitars, and a couple weird little instruments. We are a little crowded. ? Can only play one at a time, yanno?
No Stars, I hope the evening is uneventful, as Mr. Stars has already had his event for the day. Tomorrow can't come soon enough!
nursej22, yes I enjoyed the play. It was an adaptation of the book, written for a small community stage company with limited resources. They did a good job! Actors were at least proficient, and a couple of them really stood out. All were enthusiastic! It was nice to get out and support "the arts."
Dh and I are entertaining thoughts of attending a performance in March, in Palm Desert. One of our favorite Texas Swing bands, Hot Club of Cowtown, will be playing there. Apparently they will perform some of their own stuff, and then combine with Tyler Hilton to perform some of Elvis' earlier music, things he recorded through Sun Studios. We will at least enjoy hearing Hot Club again, they are amazing! Only a fiddle, a jazz guitar, and an upright bass, but their vocals and arrangements are just exciting!
Have a good evening!

Tweety hope that the fevers are gone
Stars I'm glad you got some peace a quiet, hopefully he'll change his tune and be more compliant with his meds. Cool that the birds come to you, I can't have a bird feeder here
NJ22 that's neat that you'll be training as a master gardener. I've been having some similar feelings
Ado I've done cross stitch before
Dianah a play sounds fun
Skipped bird watching yesterday as it was too cold and windy. Probably done with bird watching until the Spring
Stayed in instead and did laundry and baking. Started on the knitting project for a hat, but finding the interest isn't there. Might go back to embroidery and other sewing type projects
Took dad out to lunch for a belated birthday, then worked on the presentation for the political group. Exercised and watched Svengoolie, the movie was OK
Felt a tad empty yesterday, like I didn't have enough to do. Perhaps a results of the breakup?
Today will do the cooking before church. After church not sure what I'll do, except more exercise and more work on the presentation. Will find something to do
Another cold day, currently 16, will only get up to 25 today
