Tweety a quiet day seems wise given the lack of sleep

NJ22 I see flickers here too fairly often, they remain during the Winter

Stars here's hoping you get some sort of update from the hospital.  I think Tweety's suggestion is a good one

Dianah that sounds like a good time, even if you felt you weren't quite as good as you wanted to be

Yesterday was fairly busy for me.  Did bird watching as usual in the morning.  Then did laundry and tried a new restaurant, which turned out to be pretty good.  Ran some errands, got Christmas cards done, and watched Svengoolie while starting a new knitting project

The cat seems back to normal again appetite wise.  Got her some canned food as an experiment but she ignored it

Before church today I'll start a crock pot recipe.  Will be hosting the after church coffee hour today.  Then this evening is the church  Christmas party, which thankfully is catered so nothing to bring

Will be another cloudy day around 40

Good morning!

Joe, hope you have a good day and time at the Christmas party.

Insomnia visited again last night.  Too bad I'm so tired on these stretch of days off.  It takes away my motivation.

I wanted to go to yoga and was on my way and got stuck in a traffic jam.  Since they lock the doors and it's rude to be late to yoga class anyway I just came home.  Bad thing is you have to pay ahead of time and there's no refunds.  They started this when they reopened during 2020 covid and had limited space due to social distancing and haven't stopped even though they don't limit the number anymore.  Oh well.

I might make a lentil recipe I found on Pinterest.  It's pretty basic but I love lentil soup.

Have a great day.

I am sorry for your insomnia, Tweety. It seems like the yoga studio ought to be able to do a refund, especially for a long term patron, such as yourself.

Joe, you seem like you will have another busy day. I like potlucks, but I also enjoy attending catered events from time to time.

After reading Tweety's comments yesterday I started to think that maybe Mr. Stars is asking that his info not be released. Which if course, is to his detriment, but I guess that is his right.

Another cool, overcast day. Typical Winter. I had a nice walk home this morning after breakfast at the diner. dh is out shopping, again. I asked him last night about his declaration a couple of weeks ago that he wouldn't be buying as much this year. He just shrugged. Oh, well, I guess I only have to gift to him this way.

The local fire department had a food drive last week. They drive a decorated firetruck with Santa through the neighborhoods and collect donations. I bagged up some of the weird stuff that dh buys and some of his online ordering boo-boos and donated that, plus some cash.

Got up late, got Nannie up shortly after that. Called hubby and left a message. He called back and said his phone is about to die. He said they were gathering his discharge papers and he would call me back. ? So, I guess I will be going over to pick him up. At least I get to read the discharge papers later on. And it should have follow-up appts made by them, or instructions to do so.

He'd better not say he wants to go to the ABC store on the way home!

Later!

Huh. Hubby is home, but ill-tempered, c/o "They kept me in there 11 days" and "Twice they didn't give me supper or breakfast." and "I didn't get to walk at all; if I got up out of the bed to go pee, a little bell would ring and they'd show up and hold the urinal in front of me and they held my pecker while I peed." and, "They didn't do anything for me", "They never told me anything.", and-and-and! I've half a mind to bring him back. It wasn't eleven days, and he probably had to be NPO for whatever tests...I told him they DID do some things for him; he had the endoscopy and 2 MRI's and 2 CT scans. They took him off a bunch of meds like Amlodipine, Librium, and Lisinopril, and started him on some others, like Cipro, Cardizem, folic acid, Thiamine, a multivitamin, and they reduced his Insulin amount.

Just like I predicted, he wanted to go to the ABC store. I said, "After all this time of not drinking and you're going to start up again?: He said he just wanted to get a few little bottles. But it is Sunday, and ABC's not open, so he was disappointed by the empty parking lot. I'll bet you a penny he gets up and goes to the ABC store first thing in the morning. Well, he has to have an appt w/ PCP within the next five days, and *I* am going to make sure he has an appt, ASAP, by calling first thing Monday morning to MAKE his appt FOR him.! The need for the follow-up appt is on the discharge paper and lists him as "high risk." No change in diet, he's back on regular food.

I stopped at Hardee's and got our supper. He ordered 2 plain cheeseburgers, and some french fries, and stuffed his face while I was driving home. Never said hello, I'm glad to be home, did not give me a hug or even a little kiss.

He went out to his car "to have a cigarette." And I asked him if he had any booze in the car, but he denied it, says he hasn't got anything to drink. He is now showering and shaving.

What a delight to have him home.?

(((((((((((((((((((( No Stars )))))))))))))))))  shaking my head over Mr. Stars.  There is precious little in life we can control, innit?  Stay the course.

I tried to go to the little mail store, to take care of getting a couple things off, and it was closed.  I tried again later (thought they might open after noon), and NOPE, not open.  Will try again tomorrow.

Spent a nice 3/4 hour talking with oldest ds on the phone, just catching up.  He is doing well.  Planning to go see the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles next weekend with his girlfriend : a R&B Christmas program!  Sounds wonderful, and I have always heard this group is fantastic!

Not much else going on.  Dh is jamming online (I declined, as my voice is still tired).

It has rained, on and off, all day.  It is snowing in the mountains.  Yay for all that!

Have a good evening!

My first thought was "they did nothing for him but run into his room every time the bed alarm went off and hold his pecker while he peed".  My guess is he was a little shaky and unsteady those first few days.  How disappointing he was to drink right away.  Doesn't bode well for any success with a retry of the  librium taper.  Good luck Stars, because if nothing changes, nothing changes.

For many years when I first moved her I went to the Tampa Bay Gay Men's Chorus's Christmas program.   I quit going many years ago though, not sure why.  I saw on FB they had their show last night.  I bet the LA group is really good.

J22, nice of you to be so generous.  Seems like an annual battle with your husband to not over do it at Christmas.  Good luck with that.  ?

Average day for me.  Just went to the gym and made some lentil soup.  Tried to take a nap around 10:30 this morning and may have dozed for a few minutes but still couldn't sleep.  Maybe I'll sleep better tonight since I'm getting tired.

?I meant to put a laughing emoji behind my statement above.  It was tongue in cheek.  LOL.

Yeah, well he must have had something stowed somewhere, at least a little bit. He got up from his recliner at 6:55 PM and said, "I'm late for my shot!" I told him what time it was: 5 minutes before 7. HE said it was 25 before 11 (PM). Then I showed him Nannie's clock and my computer where it says the date and time. Then he said the mantle clock is wrong. Well, when my dear departed FiL took it apart and put it back together again, he placed the hour hand where the minute hand goes and vice versa, so it always looks wrong, which is why *I* never look at it and why I gave Nannie a small clock for her chairside table. Then he said he was supposed to get 11 units of insulin for his PM shot; no, according to the discharge papers he is now to take 18 units every night. I am now going to take over his medisets until I know HE is knowing his new med schedule.

Bah.

Then I asked him about his meds...like, we should've gone to the pharmacy right after I picked him up, but I didn't get to look at the discharge paper until we got home. But I told y'all what was d/c'd and what the new ones were...now he says he isn't going to make any changes until he talks w/ his PCP. Well, he HAS to take the Cipro and should've had a dose tonight, and though he complains that some of the new meds are "just vitamin pulls". I said, but obviously vitamins which your blood-tests indicated were LOW. But I pulled the med bottles for d/c'd meds and put them in my room. I am gonna go get the new meds in the morning, and put the new ones into the medisets. I will make sure he takes the Cipro!

But I did get him agree to look through his meds and take out the d/c'd pills and make sure he had two medisets...for AM and PM. He said he always takes all his pills in the morning. I told him NOT ANY MORE!

Good lord, those B vitamins (thiamine and folic acid) are vital for alcoholics ! Those with alcohol use disorder (drinkers) do not absorb these and low levels can lead to anemia, and nerve and brain damage. Look up beriberi and Wernieke-Korsakoff syndrome.  He is really playing with fire. And wanting to wait to talk to doc? Yeah, we all know that is just a delaying tactic until he can "forget" is next appointment.
