Ado that is awfully hot, good day to be indoors

Stars men in general tend to be reluctant to see the doctor

NJ22 glad at least that it's not hurting all the time

Busy day yesterday.  Bird watching then visit to the dentist.  She wants me to try wearing a light version of my night time mouth guard during the day, it seems that I may be grinding my teeth at work during the day due to stress and not just at night.  Had lunch with dad then got a haircut.   Exercised, worked on the shopping list for this week, and watched most of Svengoolie.  The movie was OK

Today have church and then a meeting of the evangelism committee after church.  Then cooking and exercise later.  Quieter day

Will be a warmer day, will get up to about 90

Just got back from fighting the lines at WalMart Pharmacy and to check out the groceries that I got while I had to wait for the pharmacy to finish filling two refills. Also stopped at Food Lion for bird/deer seed and sunflower seeds for the hubby to munch on. The only sunflower seeds they had at walmart were the ones IN the shells.

Picked up a better room fan for my room; the one I picked up at CVS yesterday is a little cutie and VERY silent but it is not so good at moving a lot of air when it's very hot upstairs. The A/C just doesn't seem to get up to the third level; don't know why except maybe it's because we have one of them-thar HVAC units that is supposed to be very eco-friendly. OH!, Yeah, a heat-pump.

We had two very young deer out in the yard just now, both still had white dots on their fur, but one was a bit bigger than the other. Soooo cute! Of course they ran off when I went out to put down the deer corn, but they'll be back, later on.

It's time to decide about supper. It better be something from the freezer because I think my cash-stash is a little low.

Hope all you'n's out on California's coast are okay, as in high and DRY. Haven't checked in on the weather news yet.

Will be back here later on------

Only 103 today according to my phone. Twin A put in his shift at the zoo. Whew.

I have a Stouffers lasagna in the oven (heating up the kitchen and dining room) since that sounded pretty good (and easy) the other day.

Lazy weekend but I don't feel too bad about it with last week's travels. Now Hubs wants to go to Indiana this weekend. I'm usually up for going places but have worked so hard to catch up at work. It feels overwhelming to think about.

68 degrees here, and smoky. There are no fires close, but it's coming from the north and east. I spent a little time at the fairgrounds this morning, helping to take down our booth, and then went to the office to unload the booth items: chairs, screens, picture cut-out board ( you stand behind it and your face is framed by flowers), seeds and brochures. I was going to stop for milk, but dh said he'd get it. But he's been sleeping in front of TV baseball all day. I did some work in my garden, put together a jigsaw puzzle, now I'm ready for a nap. I'm not sure what we'll have for dinner. My stomach has been weird all day, so I have no appetite.

I think I have some jarred pesto, so I think maybe just pasta with pesto sounds good, with some fresh cherry tomatoes and Parmesan cheese.

Hello all!

I will go back and read the last few days' posts, after I get this out.

We arrived at the festival Wednesday around 4:30 pm, set up camp, jammed.  Every day was visiting and jamming!  The festival bands on stage started Friday at 3pm and went to 10pm, and went Saturday 10a - 10pm.   They were scheduled for all day Sunday as well (9am - 4pm).  HOWEVER, we all kept checking the weather, for news of the unprecedented tropical storm making its way (downgraded from Hurricane Hillary).

Saturday was a beautiful day, though it was cloudy most of the day.  It was warm and balmy.  Bands were great!  We saw lots of friends, that was great too.

We were scheduled to play on stage at 9am, as the gospel band set.  We practiced yesterday, and then jammed in the evening.  We heard rain on the roof of the RV starting at 2am, and going in spurts through the night.  We woke to a 6am alarm (just in case we were going to play), and it was still raining, and supposed to rain most of the day.  TPTB cancelled all performances, as who is going to buy tickets to an outdoor festival, when it's raining all day???  Plus the sound crew packed their stuff up last night, not wanting to risk thousands of dollars of sound equipment in the rain!  We could have played without the sound equipment, but aside from a few dear friends who would have attended, sitting in chairs with rain gear on, under umbrellas! -- there would have been no one to listen to us.  There was one building available that could have held possibly 100 attendees, besides the band, but half of the campers had already pulled out after the last show last night.  The administrators decided to declare the event cancelled for the day.

We were planning to wait out the storm, in our RV, but decided, during a lull in the rain in the morning, to pack up and head home.  We arrived home safely at 11am.  There has been a lot of rain this afternoon, and from the reports, rain will continue through the evening and night, tapering off around 11am tomorrow.  PLUS, did you hear about the 5.1 earthquake in Ojai??  That is 120 miles from us, to the west/coast.  We didn't feel it, but reports are there were several aftershocks too.  My my, what a day!  Dh says La Nina moved away some months ago, so we are getting storms that La Nina held at bay.

Well, we are safe and dry now, and just keeping tabs on the storm's progress.  Apparently storm warnings extend up into Idaho!

I will go catch up on your posts now.  Have a good evening!

Dianah, sorry to hear things were cut short because of the rain but good to hear from you.  I've been thinking about you.

Wow, dianah. I'm glad you are safely home. And it sounds like the festival was good until the weather went wrong.

Saturday night Twin B called and asked me to take his ear buds to the hospital because he had forgotten them. He's made a number of similar trips for me (though not usually after he's just gone to bed) so I did. Then at 8 the next morning Twin A called because the car was overheating. So I drove 6 miles north to take him a gallon of coolant. One cool thing about that trip is that I saw a roadrunner at the exit where he was waiting.

Hubs is complaining of eye pain. He has been working on the TR6 and while he does wear eye protection things sometimes get around it. He sees an eye Dr tomorrow. I'm thinking corneal abrasion or something like.

Hello Ado,

any eye issues are worrisome to me, so glad your dh is seeing someone soon for his eye pain.

And yes, it's always something, supporting other family members!  You are a good mom!  I can't recall if I ever told you my theory (not original, one I adopted) that the uterus is a homing device?  Yes, it certainly is.   Even if one has had a hysterectomy, or even if one is gravida 0, para 0, the uterus is still a homing device.   We may not have seen an item, have never used it, or purchased it, maybe don't know what it looks like, but we will always be asked, "Where is my _______________ ??"  and, amazingly, we know where it is!!  Usually it's "MOM, where's my _________??" or "Honey have you seen my ___________??"  Yup.  Truth.
