Summer vacation is nearly here!!!!

Yay! I am really excited for summer too. Its the end of my first year also, and I am going to be starting a new job, full time as a cna in labor and delivery for the summer. I am also getting ready to move out of my parents house for the first time, and I will be living with my boyfriend of 4 1/2 years, which should be an interesting new experience. I feel like i am finally starting to become a grown up. about time at 24 years old, huh? :) I plan to work, relax, and watch the first 3 seasons of ER on dvd that i got yesterday.

After finals - get my house clean and have a yard sale to add some dough to my vacation fund (hoping to take the boys to Disneyworld as a "graduation present"!) :chuckle

Spending 8 weeks completing an externship in the critical care unit at a big(ger) hospital near my best friend's house - We're going to stay with her and she's keeping my boys while I work (7a-7p). Her kids and mine are big buddies, so I know they'll have a blast.

Possibly filing for divorce! :chuckle

After externship is over, buying season passes to the waterpark and taking the boys as much as possible before school starts back up in the fall! :)

I'd also like to learn to knit, but not sure if I have enough hand-eye/follow-directions coordination for that! :chuckle

I have to take just one class "Pharmacology," I will also golf, go to the pool & lake, go camping, run the kids to their ball games, enjoy long evening walks, plant flowers, hopefully read a couple books, have a date with my husband and play on the computer of course :coollook:

Only two more weeks for me until I get a week off for early summer break and to start my new pharm class I LOVE summer :bow:

Yes, Summer vacation is here. I understand your excitement. Have a great summer.

So, what are you all doing over the Summer?
I will be finishing my first year of nursing school on Friday and then I have THREE AND A HALF MONTHS off until I start college again!!!! Whhooooooooopppiieeeeeeeeeeee!!!!! I am not doing any summer courses, but there are TONS of things that I want to get done over the Summer:
* Cleaning, cleaning and more cleaning!!! My house has a whole years worth of neglect to try and take care of!
* Sorting out our boxes of photo's and getting them into albums.
* Going on lots of day trips and picnics with my kids.
* Relaxing in the hot tub, with a nice cold glass of Sangria!
* Reading some FICTION for a change!
* Journaling, Sketching and Watercolor painting (if I still remember how!).
* Hiking with my dogs.
* OK......I might just squeeze in 30 minutes of NCLEX review each day, just to stay on top of things ready for next year!

This week is my "vacation".. I've got a full load for summer school. My first day back is May 10th. Guess I can't complain too much, though - it gets me out of school more quickly - and doesn't give my poor brain the opportunity to "get dumb" and forget the basics (Which i can do quite easily, I must admit!)

Here's what i've been up to:

* Picking up a few extra shifts at work - to gear up and buy books (Groan, it's that time again!!!)

* Reading a mindless novel (yay, fiction!) One of those trashy Bantam Romances called "Leave it to Cleavage" ... what can I say, the title intrigued me!

* Skimming through Maternity textbook. (We've got a test on the first day of class!)

Got to say, all the "to do's" look like my running list.. Paint, I've got the major neglect going all over the place too. Not just the house, either. I look like I've been camping out in my truck.. it needs a wash & a vacuum.. bad! :)

I'm not starting nursing school until mid-August, but my spring semester of pre-reqs will be over on May17th! On the 19th, my husband & I are taking our daughters - ages 3 & 6 - to Hilton Head, SC for 9 days. Hilton Head is heaven on earth to the four of us. We rent a villa right on the beach and do nothing except have fun and eat at great restaurants.

When I return, I'll be starting summer Mircobiology online.

No summer break for me...I start my nursing classes May 31st:) I have a whole week off between spring semester and summer. I know some students studing to get ready for nursing classes but as for me, I might go to Disneyland. I will have enough studing later:) H

Sounds like you all have good things planned for the summer....I've been toying with the idea of Disneyworld too - we've never been before, and as my eldest will be off to college in a few years, we really should go before it's too late. All depends on $$$ though LOL!

This will be my last Summer at home with the kids before I go back to work, so I want to really enjoy it and make some memories
