Summer 2018- UT Health Science center pacesetter BSN program

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello Everyone,

I am preparing myself to apply for Summer 2018 pacesetter BSN program. We can use this forum for Summer 2018 applicants. I am in the process of taking Hesi exam. I have completed all my prerequisite courses needed for the program.

Little bit about me:

BS in Microbiology in 2005 -GPA (3.05)

MPH degree in Epidemiology in 2012-GPA (3.85)

Associate degree of Science in 2017-GPA (4.0)

Hesi test-will be taking it in August

Working full time with City Health department as an epidemiologist specialist since last five years. I am also a mom of two boys.

Got accepted to MUSC college of nursing program but declined it. Also got accepted to Johns Hopkins Entry into Masters of nursing program for Fall 2017 but had to deffer it to Fall 2018 due to financial circumstances.

Trying to apply for the in-state school due to affordable tuition as well as easy commute.

I really hope i can get into UT Health Science center pacesetter program as it's my first option as it's closest to me as well as it's affordable and one of the best programs in Texas.

Thanks I have yet to attend one because I decided to apply sooner than I thought but any information that you give me is very helpful.

Congratulations for the acceptances and future graduation!

Thank you!! I wanted to make sure I had my deposit for UTMB all squared away and everything first and for some reason applyUTH wouldn't let me change my response. But I just called and talked to someone to withdraw my admission. Good luck to y'all! :)

Has anyone been accepted from the waitlist yet?

Has anyone been accepted from the waitlist yet?

I haven't seen anyone say anything on here yet.

I am on the waitlist and haven't heard anything back yet

So am I and I haven't heard anything /: I am shocked nobody has heard anything!! They can't possibly wait until 2 weeks before to let everyone know who is accepted and pulled off the waitlist

Hi everyone,

Congrats to everyone who has been accepted! I applied for Fall 2018 and have some questions that maybe someone will be able to answer because whenever I call UT Health they are never very helpful. I do not have the best stats so I am a little discouraged after reading this forum. In high school I took dual credit classes and got some C's in them which lowers my GPA. I now have a BS in Child Development and a minor in psychology from a four year university. Does anyone know if they take into account that the C's that I have were from dual credit in HS?? Its a little frustrating because I had 1 C throughout my 4 years in college and worked really hard to make A's and then seeing that my dual credit classes from HS mess up my GPA. Does holding a degree pull any weight at all when they consider admissions?

Science GPA: 3.67

Nursing GPA: 3.39

Hesi: 86%

I had a few Cs on my transcript from dual credit courses in high school in like 2012 and 2013 and I was accepted. But since then I have had all As.

congrats so far to the summer cohort who have made it! for those waiting, hang in there! for those who didn't make it in, don't be discouraged! i was denied before i was accepted, and it's not the end of the world to wait one more semester.

If you're an incoming student this summer, i am selling my books soon! if you're interested, go ahead and contact me at [email protected]. or if you have any questions i'd be more than happy to help! just subject the email as "incoming UTHealth student"

My UTH portal has not updated in a while. Have many people been accepted yet? I see some waitlists and denials in the last month of comments, but only 2-3 acceptances. Decision deadline on or about April 15 per the UTH website. Thanks.

Are you on the waitlist?

Has anyone on the waitlist heard anything yet?!
