Wow, finally a group to call my own!Ever since I came here I've been looking for others in the same boat as myself whether it be they were graduating high school or doing this class or that in the future. I feel excited to say that I will also be in summer classes. To be exact, it'll be my first semester of college! I will also bemy first on campus experience.
I will be taking 12hrs (4 classes, 3hrs each):
Summer Session 1 (month of June)
College Algebra and Fund. of Speech
Summer Session 2 (month of July)
General Psychology and General Sociology
Any other entering freshman like myself?
Oh, how I wish I could say I was. That was 22 years ago for me. I'm old.
a & p 1. Class starts Tuesday. I bought the book 2 months ago and already read it. Already memorized the bones. I am so terrified of this class. I am meeting a girl today to borrow her coloring book. She failed the class and has to retake it. Said her first test was on the bones of the skull and she did not pass. Also said she did not study hard as she did not realize the class was so hard. She is very young and told me point blank that she was not prepared for college! Anyway, good luck to all of us!!!!

I'm not trying to get off topic or anything, but what exactly constituted as being prepared? If you go in and give all you've got and be serious about it and form good habits, then what else should be the problem?
All of these people failing out of A&P their first semester isn't very encouraging, good thing I was advised against taking A&P my first year which was my original choice.
And welcome to allnurses, 3rdgenRN2b!

I havent read too many posts in here about people failing, but i know the ones in my class just didnt give it much time. A&P is a lot of info to learn, and it takes a lot of memorizing. I usually spent about 4-6 hours per day studying for it. Proabably more than most people, but it was my first semester back after many years, and I was litterally scared to death. You can definitely do it if you really want to. There at the end, I was maybe studying 2 hours or so per day. I calmed down a little I guess.
