Wow, really? My schools (Ohio State and Columbus State) have the same policies all year. They're both on quarters so it's generally 3-4 classes are 15-20 hours and full time. (Some classes might be worth only 3 credit hours or something, like music and engineering @ OSU) I have 4 or 5 prereqs to take. Psych, chem, and 2 nurses aid clinicals. Actually, I don't need the math class for nursing, I need it to get my BA at Ohio State. It's my final GEC, I think.

Sassy, how long is your summer semester?
Our's is 6 weeks. Maybe that's where the difference lies?
We also have to take a semester long Nurse Aid course to get into the nursing program. I took the PCT program this past semester and will be working as an ER Tech, starting next week.
I'm applying to the nursing program this fall. I think it will benefit us to have this experience when we start clinicals. Don't you?
What Nurse Aid class will you be taking? And will you be certified after the class is over?
Well, quarters are 10 weeks long, and there are also some classes that will go half of the quarter. All my classes run the full length of the quarter. If you have to cram a whole class into 6 weeks, that definitely makes sense to cap it after 2 classes.
I'm not sure about the certification. That would be logical because otherwise it seems like just taking those 2 classes for the heck of it would be a waste. I was thinking of hunting down some classes at a nursing home or hospital to get a nurses aid or whatever job in the meantime, but I guess I could look into where I'll be after those two classes. I might save myself some money and from being entered into a contract to work at a nursing home for who knows how long if I just put if off til December when I'll be done with those classes. (I'm going to try and get into them in September for fall quarter)
Those clinicals are:
o MULT 120 - Nurse Aide Training Program
o MULT 126 - Patient Care Skills
I am taking Anatomy and Physiology the first 5 weeks, as we speak. I got accepted to the program this year so I'm glad i singed up for Human growth (online) and Anatomy and Physiology II (2nd 5 weeks) then after that there will be like somewhere between a month or and a half before i start my program. In between that month and a half was the 3rd 5 week session at my school. I can take Microbiology and get it out of the way, so i don't have to take it with my Nursing 3 classes next summer. What do you guys think should i sign up for it, or just take it in my 3rd semester nursing courses?
