Summer 2009 Rush GEM Applicants

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if there are any Summer 2009 Rush GEM applicants out there and if you have heard anything back from RUSH at this point? I applied for early decision and don't really know how competitive I am as an applicant... My undergrad gpa is a 3.6 with the last 60 hours being a 3.8. I have research experience at Northwestern at the medical school, have been published once in a peer-reviewed journal, have been a vp and pres of BBB national honor society. I have a year of full time EMT experience and about 1,000 hours in volunteering at a nursing home. I am just really worried because I keep reading that people are like 3.9 GPA's with tons of clinical experience and what not.

If anyone is out there who is applying let me know how your process is going.

I just heard back today to schedule my interview, I also applied Early decision for summer 09. Your credentials are better than mine so if you haven't heard anything yet you should soon.

Hi Lisamarie and Hereandnow!

By now you must have heard from Rush in one way or another. I am planning on applying to Rush as well, but not until this upcoming winter (start date spring/summer 2010).

I hope you got into the program. Just checking because I'm pretty nervous about applications and not getting in.

Yes, I got in, but I have delayed my start date until Winter 2010, because I am moving from Ohio to Chicago and I couldn't move as soon as I originally planned.

I had no idea that Rush had a wait list for the GEM Summer 2009 program...untill I was placed on one I'm really dissapointed but I guess that being placed on the wait list is better than not being accepted at all into the program.

I'M OFF THE WAIT-LIST. Yeah!!!!! I got accepted into the GEM program for summer 2009. Thank God....I am so blessed!
