Summer 3 Mayo clinic nurse externship 2017

Hey guys! I know that we're still a few months from the application opening, but I'm so excited I can't wait!

I'd love to hear from any of the previous years' externs and anyone planning on applying this summer.

I know we're all type A so I'm not gonna feel weird about this, but last year the 27th was a saturday, so maybe tomorrow? My status still hasn't changed :nailbiting:

Exactly. I think it's important to keep in mind too that Mayo may not use the same exact timeline as they have in previous years. We may even have to wait another week or two! I've read threads that are from 3-4 years ago, and their timelines are slightly different. There's still hope for us! :)

So the Type A part is totally correct. So correct that I called Mayo Clinic to ask...the nurse recruiter has a message to call me back when she returns Monday. If she lets me know anything that we don't already know, I will let you guys know, too. I would rather know a general ballpark of notifications so that we don't keep checking our statuses and drive ourselves crazier than nursing school is probably driving us already LOL

I would think we would be notified on a business day.

Some years they have notified on weekends too. However, a business day would definitely be more likely I would think!

So happy I found this post! I also applied and have been checking my application status frequently after reading a previous thread that said the first round of notifications came out January 27th last year. Good luck everyone!

So I just got off the phone with the recruiter. They're doing things slightly different this year. They will be sending emails out this week if you DON'T make it into the next round. A little over 700 people applied for 50 seats. Those who made it to the next round will be notified the next week.

So they are still looking through applications, but she said those who didn't make it in should be notified by email within the next couple of days
