Hello I am a pre=nursing student and would like some advice on my pre-reqs. Has anyone taken Anatomy during a five week summer course and if so can you please give me some do's and don'ts advice. Is it doable and how hard is it? Thank you for all your help.
I originally discouraged it until post #10 said it was last class needed for prerequisite . Thinking that meant A&P II and having done A&PII and another 8 week summer course where classes are twice as long, it sounded possible.
Taking A&P I 5week summer course is too short. That's probably same as 10 week fall course which is also too short for A&P I.
Yes I know I am so torn, I hear this is one of the most important courses. I am struggling a little in Microbiology now, so I am a little hesitant. If I do take Anatomy in Summer I will also be taking the TEAS test and applying in Spring to the Long Beach BSN program. However, if I wait till Fall then I will not be applying till Sept 2014 for the 2015 Fall semester. So it will place me one semester behind. I am so up in the air. Also the summer course starts July 7,2014 to Aug 11,2014.
P.s. I am new to this forum and I took some advice and changed my profile pic and username yet I still do not know how to quote or mention names in comments. I appreciate all the advice and kind words, I feel like I am making friends for life. Thanks Ya'll:snurse: I get more and more excited the more I read posts and articles, I know this tunnel is very long before I see the light, and I have so many questions and want to do this right.
No I'm done with required pre reqs just need A&P...
Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those
who matter don't mind.
You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You're on your own, and you know what you know. And you are the one who'll decide where to go.
Thank you everyone for all your help and suggestions I have decided to split the two courses in two semesters, so this fall I am taking Anatomy alone. This will set me back one semester however I want to get an A or a B... NOT a C. Also I heard that some BSN schools are not accepting the combo A&P classes so this I believe is my best bet. Now I would like to buy a medical terminology book to study over summer or some sort of self learning I could teach and get a heads up... Any suggestions on books or what I shhould do to prepare during the 5 week break???

OP stated it would be 5 weeks. I just think that is WAY too short of a time to learn and understand A&P and be proficient enough to apply it later in nursing school. Especially if it's A&P I
