Does anyone know of some online colleges where a student could do the majority of their schooling online and then take the practical part of learning on campus? I'm currently living abroad and will be returning to America within the next three years, however, I have already finished my BA in psychology along with many pre-requisits needed for most nursing schools. Id like to start nursing school before i come back to America, in order to get a head start. Do you know of any programs like this?

Maybe DISREGARD my below--as it is for RN to BSN, sorry
I'm in Nicaragua and doing my RN to BSN with Grand Canyon University--it is 100% online--no clinicals. You can send them an unofficial school transcript and they will tell you what classes you require. Most require 12 classes--and of course some less.. I require 12--but can test out of 2--or just take the class, lol
Each class is only 5 weeks long, which is good and bad, as you can be pretty busy, but you finish faster--many do work full time.
Lots of paper writing and most classes have at least 1 group project. And each week you have 2 discussion questions you have to put down your answer to---and then reply to others--at least 2 posts in a day--for 3 days of the week.
I like that all the books are ONLINE---you pay $110 for each course for the books--I can see the books that are available for the whole course. Has a great online library as well.
So far so good. Like I said, I'm doing it from Nicaragua, and really in no hurry as I won't be back to the USA until 2016. If you join ANA, you get 10% off classes. There are some*** such as if your going to take longer than 2 weeks off between courses, u have to get approval, otherwise you lose the discount---and if your receivig student aid/loans, same thing you need to get approval for breaks longer than 2 weeks.
As stated each course is 5 weeks long---It will end on a Sunday and WHAM, the very next day, your onto the next course if you do not take a break. if you do a search of Grand Canyon, you will find more threads on it on here. I think in total, the course costs around $16000-$17000--classes and books. Cheers

Look at Thomas Edison State College but many states require theory to be completed concurrently with clinical. / practical.
