Suffolk County Community College LPN to RN bridge experience

Nursing Students School Programs

I was just wondering if anyone has been through SCCC LPN to RN bridge program? What was your experience like? Were you able to work, if so how many hours? What were the clinicals like? I was recently accepted into this program, so I am just curious as to what to expect in the upcoming months ?

Hi! Just wondering for those who are in the program/finished if it is only 3 semesters or 4? Also did you feel it was less competitive to get into compared to the traditional RN program.. Thanks ?

Hello! I am currently in Suffolk's LPN program, graduating this May. My original plan was to apply for the 2022 Spring start LPN-RN program, but now I'm hearing the NCLEX process is a lot longer than expected and I may not have my license in time to apply. Is this true? Has anyone gone straight from the LPN program to the bridge program back to back? I really don't want to wait another year to apply for the bridge program...

Hello Nurses. Sorry Didn’t see the comments posted before. I did the LPN-RN at the grant campus. As you can imagine it got really crazy with the Covid. We ended up doing remote clinicals which involved lots of extra reading assignments, vsims and so forth. We were behind with our exams because they had to be proctored from home so our exams were pretty much back to back. The teachers get together and make up the exams. I used the tutor, she is very helpful. Yes if you can take as much prerequisites as you can. I had to take extra classes while doing the nursing and working pretty much full time while juggling family life (have two children and thank goodness a very supportive husband) but I made it! So can you guys. I wish you all the best and feel free to ask any questions that you may have. I have more free time now and can get back to you faster. Wish you guys all the best!

Do you still have your tutor notes for 240?!

I am in the Grant bridge program. It's going really well. The professors make the exams with a private question bank they have on ATI. They tend to be a little trickier than the normal questions but still doable. Our first exam was Friday and the grades ranged from 70-100.
