I got them old subpoena blues
Too many patients with legal problems
leading to too many subpoenas to testify
I dont need these during the summer
They be messing with my golfing
why cant the just plead guilty
and not drag me into it
then there are those ones
where you go to the courthouse only to find
Its been rescheduled
and thus another subpoena
then there are those ones over 2 yrs old
and the DA asks
do you remember this person in your ER
I certainly dont think so
he was probably drunk
all scraped up
puking, cussing, cursing, combative
now he is sitting there in a suit and tie
all clean and nice and respectable
and you expect me to remember him or her
another day of golf wasted
I guess you can call this an ode to DA's
Or an ode to an incompetent legal system
Or an ode to where time does make you forget the criminal
To me its an ode where I miss a day of golf.
For a court appearance
where I have to wear a suit
polish my shoes
shave my face, comb my hair
but worse of all
I doesn't let me get a round of golf in
I hate subpoenas
I hate DA's
Have you noticed the only attorneys who work in the DA's office, are
the ones that cant get a job anywhere else, because they are to dumb
to work anywhere else. DA does it mean District Attorney, or does it
really mean Dumbass Attorney.
And yes I'm bitter about this

Tom - I just left the ER after 10 years. I got called two weeks ago for a deposition of an incident that occurred in 2004. Without going into details, it turns out the pt was smoking crack cocaine in the hospital. I was asked if I remembered the pt (I took care of them in the ER)...hunh??? Uh no - I've probably taken care of several thousand patients since then! Gee whiz.
I havent been subpoenaed lately anyway
