Nurses Announcements Contest

Published

The allnurses team is proud to announce the launch of our school reviews directory: Accredited Nursing Universities and Colleges | Peer Reviews.

Our strongest asset is our members. Our weakness is that information is found all over the site. For example, these days you can find school reviews in Pre-Nursing, General Student, the Online Distance Learning forum, and yes, even in the General Nurse forum ... I can go on. But, I think you get the message.

With the school directory, our goal is to have all the school reviews in one central area. Making it easy for our readers to find what they want when they need it the most.

Can you submit a school review today?

The review process will take about a minute to complete.

Reviews can be submitted anonymously. (Select your school > click 'Add Review' > check the 'Anonymous Review' option)

Reviews can be submitted as a pre-student (doing research at school before attending), as a student, as a parent, alumni, or as an employee.

You may submit more than 1 review.

I f your school is not listed please post your request here and we'll make sure it gets listed.

Currently, we have 60 schools listed. We are adding schools every week.

[ I am a 95' grad from OHSU's Ashland program. I will say that all my professors (nursing and non-nursing) were/are the best in the world "IMO." I feel fortunate to have been able to live in Ashland. It's a small town of yuppies, college students and intellectuals. The free spirit and feel of comfort & comradery flow through the town. The wind rustles the towering trees that line the main street and Shakespearean banners flow to welcome all that enter.

I chose the Ashland program because of Ashland (I also had my pick of where to go with my 4.0 and got in the first time). Only applied to two programs because I really wanted the Ashland program. I didn't want to live in a big city like Portland.

Be with us; be happy...be happy for any RN that graduated frm college. Ratings or not; if you took probabiltiy and statistics you would know how skewed the data game is. It's always adjusted to meet the needs of who is doing the data. Welcome to politics.]

The above post is a piece I put on this site. After I graduated from OHSU, I flew back to where I was from and took an old waitress job back to make immediate money. I have kids and time passed and suddenly it was a year gone by. I made an appointment to take the boards, went, passed and went right into nursing.

People are shocked that I didn't do all the; buy all the review books, worry yourself silly thing...I knew I had went to one of the best schools in this country. I also knew that I had been taught well and saw no need to review with a bunch of books.

It was one of those few moments in time that marks a person's life. I went to take the boards with the confidence and knowledge that OHSU had taught and instilled in me the ability to pass any obstacle. The non-nursing courses only added to the completeness of me being an educated adult.

This process is part professors; part student. OHSU didn't teach the test; they taught nursing. When you have professors who are sincere and committed like the ones I had, only good things happen. I didn't pass the boards due to a bunch of review books; I passed the boards because OHSU molded me into becoming the Registered Nurse I wanted to be.

OHSU has campuses all over Oregon; that makes it even better as a person can choose the environment they want to live in.

There is definite pride when someone asks "Where did you graduate nursing school from?" I proudly say: Oregon Health & Science University.

Thank you OSHU and SOU. The nursing prgram, along with the required non-nursing courses have opened my eyes to the world more than you will ever know. When once I heard another student nurse complain about the non-nursing courses my professor answered saying, "Talk to me in 5 years." It's the ah ha moment when you realize that they are all actually connected. It's all part of the critical thinking process; that in my opinion, is the hallmark of any professional.

You have my permision to take any or all statements in this review to publish as you see fit for the purposes of this review contest. SPG

Thank you...
