Studying for Med/surg

HELP!!! I am 3 weeks away from being done with med/surg. There is no way I can get an A in the class at this point because I got an 83 on the first exam of med/surg 2. All I want at this point is a B, but I just don't know how to study. I mean I guess I'm doing okay considering our average was still failing for our school. I do NCLEX questions, I have a review guide, I take notes from the book, and I study the material. I just don't know what I am doing wrong. I figured out that I can at least pull an 83 on the other 2 exams, I can pull the B with care plans and what not, but I'd like to make sure that I am okay and won't have to worry. Any tips on studying would be appreciated!

Just hang in there, keep on doing what you're doing. Med-Surg is no joke. I'm in the same boat, I'll be getting my first B (if I keep up my current efforts and results) in Med-Surg this semester myself. No possibility for an A on my end, either. Doesn't matter, though, most seem to be failing in this course in my school, so as far as I'm concerned, a B or an A are above passing, so are equally good. Maybe Phi Theta Kappa won't invite you to become a member this time around, but at least you'll get through it. Just keep on keeping on!

ETA (does that commonly mean "edited to add" on this forum?): You asked what you're doing wrong. My thought is, nothing! You've got a B in Med-Surg! That's great! Just make sure you hang onto it.

It sounds like "B" is the new "A+"!!!! Keep up the awesome work!!!

In med/surg I created concept maps of all the major disorders to better relate signs/symptoms, labs, treatment, nursing diagnoses, interventions, and medications. It was time consuming but super helpful. Good luck.
