Nursing Students Excelsior

Ok so I received my book in the mail today to study for my first excelsior exam. I have not enrolled into the college since you can take up to 2 exams without enrolling. Im nervous and I dont know what to study. I've only been a LPN since December but I dont want to wait especially since it is hard finding a job as a LPN. Im also taking classes at a local community college and I should have the general education portion done by May !!! I plan on taking the Transition exam next month (APRIL) and every exam a month after(is that too close??) Im trying to have this program completed by OCTOBER!!!! (my sister completed her's in 6 months!!!!) has anyone else done it in that amount of time????? ok so back to the Transition exam...can anyone give me any pointers??? how was the exam?? was it difficult?? easy??? im just nervous

I used the studygroup 101 and I passed with an A. I have to be honest that is the only thing I used for that exam. At that time I did not have much money to spend on the textbooks. I have no complaints.

Hi everyone, I took Health Safety on April 4th and failed. Im very disappointed in myself and was ready to give. I read a few of the post and decided brush myself off and go for Transition. Do you think I should, or do you think I should try Health Safety again?

I didn't care for studygroup 101 but I guess it is personal preference. Maybe I should give it another try.

studygroup101 transition to rn study guide is awesome!

I got the combo cd off ebay for $30 it has h&s, differences, chronicity, and repro....then I bought the transitions cd for $9.99. I am buying the combo cd next week that has ls 1, 2, 3 on it. They help me a lot but I guess it is a personal decision. It works for me though.

Oh I also use the yellow saunders nclex-rn book. That one is really helpful when you get to repro and the ls series...it has a couple of chapters for transitions and a couple for chronicity. I bought that off amazon for $50 i think it was.

i took health safety one failed. I need live in hartford ct need someone to study.,

i noticed it has a lot of info on Repro too. I feel like I'm slacking in my studies on this one. I test in 3 weeks.

Are you talking about Excelsior being the worst? This has not been my experience so far.

Well I took health and safety today and I have to say it wasn't what I expected it was a lot harder than I thought. I passed with a C wow. Study guide study did help but it was a lot of questions with double answer and critical thinking.

How many exams have you taken? I may try to test Lifespans 1,2 and 3 every 5 weeks. I think they are all hard. I found Repro to be really hard. I was fairly happy with a C though.
