  1. Hello fellow nurses. Took my Kaplan yesterday. I think I am the worst case scenario. My Kaplan score was 59. My GPA is 2.69. I'm applying but not really putting hope into getting in. Hopefully because of Covid 19 they will have some leniency. So I am working on other things like finishing my bachelor's in HIM. I have already cried my eyes out and now that's over it's time to move to the next phase of my life. I hope this post helps someone who think their score are bad.
  2. My Kaplan test is next Tuesday. I think the cut off score is 55. At least that was what one of the advisors told me.
  3. I applied. I will be transitioning Lpn-RN. I have been a nurse for 20 years. I have all my prerequisites and I know this course is competitive.
  4. I will applying for the LPN-RN program at Herzing University in Alabama in September. I am moving there for the nursing program from Louisiana since it is one year. I have to take my Teas test first. I have to score a 51% or above. I bought the ATI Teas 6 Secrets Study Guide with test A &B. I am going to take the test in two weeks. I also have to apply for the Alabama nursing license. I have three months to get this together. If anyone could tell me about their nursing class experience with Herzing in Alabama I would really appreciate it.
  5. Good luck!!!!
  6. Hang in there. You are so close to the finish line that you can just jump across for that TITLE. I am so glad that there is someone out there that can relate to my experience. That is my same problem. That is why I needed the big encouragement. I had to fall back at an old job that I really dreaded. Believe me, I cringed to go back. I cried knowing that I had to return, but the census at the hospital went down so I have not been working. But I am going to hang in there just until I get my RN. Now I study much harder and looking forward to take my exam a little quicker so I can leave that job as soon as possible. I have only taken Health and Safety exam. But soon I am going to take Transitions to RN. Everyday I way my options before walking in: RN or LPN. I choose RN, that is what make me get out of the car.
  7. Thank you for this inspirational speech. It really did help me. I feel so much differently today about my future than yesterday. I do believe that I can go forward. Can't wait until I sign the RN to my signature. Thanks.
  8. i recently started excelsior lpn to rn course. i have passed health and safety three weeks ago. but i find my self needing encouragement to continue. i know that i can be productive in nursing and i love it to the fullest. have been a lpn for 10 years. i had to get another job so i went back to work at a nursing home, that is, coming from a hospital. when the census go down in my little town, you can be out of work for three weeks like i have. so a girl must do what she has to do to pay for her education. but i find myself dragging to study, then question myself, "what is the point." please someone tell me this is a phase and it will all pass. i do believe that there is someone out there that have surpassed this and care to share a few words to lift a lpn traveling to rn.
  9. Thanks so much for the input. I guest I will have to tune up the old memory bank and get with it.
  10. Can anyone shed some light on how to study for EC Transition to RN role. I am not a history buff so I find this information boring. There are some things in the notes that are interesting but the overall notes itself is not a pick-me-up if I want something to read.
  11. Thank you for this tidbit. I went online to study with the flashcards. I wish this really help because this is soooooooooooo boring. I was never a history buff.
  12. Thanks. I know you will do it. I am going to pray for you. That subject will boring for me as well. But just think, after you pass it, and you will, it will be over. On the way to the next exam. I just purchased my studyguided 101 notes for Transition of RN roles and EC study guide. I'm about to get into the notes. The earlier I study, the quicker I can finish this course.
  13. Thank you so much for this information. I too, is starting to study for the Transition to RN course.
  14. as of 10:00 a.m. on 10/6/11, i passed the essentials to health safety exam. that is one down and 7 to go. there was 130 questions. a lot of questions from the practice exam was on there. i actually celebrated like i would have taken boards and passed. now, i am looking forward to take transition to registered nursing exam around the first week in november. if anyone have any suggestions on how to study the notes or preparation for the exam, i am all ears. i dread this part because i am not a history buff so i have to apply myself twice as hard.
  15. Thanks so much for your feedback. Tomorrow we will see what the outcome is. I am very positive about this but scared.
