Study Tips

I did a quick search, but I didn't see a thread on study tips. I just finished my first semester of nursing school (ADN). While I did well, I'm super nervous about next semester, especially Pathophysiology and Pharmacology.

I like using the Pomodoro app to keep me focus. It's a time that goes off after 25 minutes for a study break of 3-5 minutes (when it goes off again so you get back to it).

Anyone got good study tips?

I have found a LOT of good study tips both here and on youtube. I think I tend to come up with idealistic ways of studying and then reality hits and I just study when I can, especially right before a test. Every semester I try to get a little more proactive, though. I guess my best tip is to prepare beforehand so that you go to class with at least some exposure to the material - skim the chapters assigned, do some NCLEX questions on the subject, meet with a study group if that helps you, use online resources for the textbook you're using, and definitely read the instructor's powerpoints. Afterward, go over and/or rewrite your notes from class, read anything applicable in your textbook, make notecards, re-listen to lectures, whatever seems to cement things in your mind.
