Study tips

Sitting here trying to study for my first exam, so far I have made over 100 flashcards and I'm not even half way though the material..flashcards at this point seem a little unrealistic to me..and take forever to make..was wondering if just reading the notes repetitively has worked for anyone? and just writing down the learning objectives instead of making hundreds of flashcards.

For each exam, I made what felt like a million study cards. When I felt like I couldn't make anymore I just wrote out the notes or read them aloud over and over.

In the end, I personally found tha I wished I would have just kept making Note cards because it is helpful for the final when you already have all the notes written out on cards and you can just focus on studying (if you have cumulative finals).

Sure, reading th notes repetitively worked for me (and I'm sure many others) so it is possible, just make sure you really understand the material and don't just memorize it. Find what's best for you. Good luck!

Flashcards were too time consuming for me as well. I only use flashcards for a very specific set of questions - like lab values. I mostly read my text now, highlight or underline key information and do lots and lots of practice NCLEX questions on the topic I am studying.

Flashcards become way too time confusing for me. It's almost counterproductive by the time I finish: I run out of time to study and have spent most of it making the flashcards. I have settled for writing notes directly on my PowerPoint slides in the "notes" section below the slide on my laptop, which gives me all the space I need to elaborate further if the professor adds additional information.

Yes thanks everyone that's exactly my point, flash cards seem to be way to time consuming and as you said by the time I'm done making them my study time is up. I plan on just reading my notes and filling in any "blanks" that I may have onto my notes from the book.
