So im a Philippines RN since 2010. I just got here in USA Feb of this year. I just would like to ask how most of you study for nclex.

I started studying last week, April 1. first week of april i answered sample questions in free 3500 nclex question and study the physiology of each system and normal values. Then this week, 2nd week of april. I started studying Saunders comprehensive 5th ed. i finished half of the book. Next week i plan to start the la charity . on 4th week i plan to start answering the kaplan book 2012-2013...

next month, May... i'd probably be still on answering questions and reading rationalies online. Then last 3 weeks of May i think im gonna enroll in 3 week Ncbn learing extension.

I give myself 2 months of review. 4-6 hours a day.

Am i being hard to myself? or am i going too fast for this?

no you're not being hard to yourself. you're just doing the right thing. keep it up! is this your first time to take the nclex?

i'm rn in the philippines too (2011 passer). i already took nclex 3 times and still failing but not giving up! i'm gonna try ncsbn review too on my last month of review for my fourth attempt. lets just not forget to ask for guidance and strength to our God. good luck and God bless!

in what state are u in?

Texas state... yes, will be my first attempt on May 30. I've not been reading books since i passed the NLE last july 2010. I wanted to rest my brain, even just for one day every week. BUT eventually, i keep on recalling things even if im watching tv or taking a bath. LOL. i guess i just have to suck it all up.

you can do it ! keep ur head up sounds like u have a good study plan

no, im currently in Texas.

try to enroll to the NCSBN (learningextpim.com) course - that's more like NCLEX-type. It helps A LOT! I just took my exam yesterday with 265 questions. I did the pearsonvue trick and I got the good pop up! you're not being too hard on yourself, just make sure to read all rationales. I mean you're already a nurse :) just be consistent in the way you study. have you scheduled your test? if you do, make sure you answer questions the same time you're taking your test. Consistency is great :) it'll train your brain.
