students... what stethoscopes?

Hey all!
I just found out I have been accepted into the nursing program in my province... and I am just wondering what kind of stethoscope did you purchase, as you "first" stethoscope for school. I am at a loss!! I had a suggestion of a littmann stethoscope... but I would like to hear what students are using!!

Congratulations on getting into nursing school!

My husband bought me a littman and it was very nice, but I had developed a hearing problem between the time he bought it and the time he gave it to me (birthday). We exchanged it for a Littman electronic stethoscope and I love it. We bought it through stethoscope.com and they were great to buy from. We had to return the original Littman to buy the electronic one and they even credited us back the engraving fee for the first one. Good luck in your studies!

I used a Sprague. My favorite is Littmann, but i wasn't taking a $100 to clinical, and have it walk off.

I have a Prestige.

I had a Sprague but the NP's I work with suggested one with single tubing instead of double so I got the Prestige. It was about $35.

They are now trying to talk me into a Littman but I said that they have to buy it for me in that case lol. ( I'll get one when I graduate)

I used a pretty purple Prestige at work a few nights ago and really thought it worked pretty darn good. I may go buy one now;)

I have a littmann classic II. I love it because of the soft earpieces. Some of the other stethoscopes are just downright painful. I bought mine off of ebay and got a great deal. http://www.allheart.com also has great deals on stethoscopes.

Littman Classic II. Just keep it with you. Set it down once or lend it to a doc that is going more than 3 feet out of your field of vision and you can say bye bye! :doh:

Congrats on getting in! I use a litmanns. I think it was the cardio III but i am not sure. you definitly can't let it leave your sight but it is worth the extra money! Also if your like me,and hearing things can be difficult this stethoscope is something i can use with ease.
