SICU Interview Questions....
I applied to a critical care new grad program and have an interview in an SICU floor. I wanted to know what type of clinical questions may be asked during the interview. Also is there anything I can say or do to make myself stick out from the rest of the applicants? As far as I know this interview will be with the nurse manager of the unit and maybe also a nurse from the unit. I just want to be prepared and ready for the interview. :) TIA

Anyone who tried NCSBN..?
I used ncbsn and kaplan q bank to help me pass the exam. I thought the content from answering the questions from both helped me prepare for what was on the actual exam. I think that ncbsn questions resembled the nclex a bit more better than kaplan did. You have to remember that the majority of the questions you will receive on the nclex are priority, infection control, delegation and medications which both kaplan and ncsbn focus on.

I Passed w/ 75Q!
So I decided to share my story hopefully to help others as others have helped me. I prepared for the by taking the kaplan classroom course, using saunders comprehensive review 4th ed cd, ncsbn 3 week course and saunders flashcards. I studied for about 2 months and did over 6000 questions. I used a lot of tips from this forum to supplement what I was already using to study. I went into the exam thinking I wasn't prepared, but didn't want to delay taking the exam any longer. I had about 15 sata, lots of priority, infection control, delegation, 2 calculations and some teaching (I got scared when I saw these as I read people who didnt pass got a lot of these questions). I also had a few peds questions and 1 ob question and was surprised by how much I got. I read on this forum that some people had barely any. It stopped at 75 questions and I was there for almost 3 hours. I got scared when it stopped as I thought I didn't do well with the questions I was given. I wished it continued on. Like everyone else I thought I failed. I even went home and double checked some of my answers and I answered them wrong. I suggest that no one does that as it just increases the stress and anxiety in waiting for your results. I found out I passed this morning and now "got the monkey off my back!" Next for me is trying to a job in this flooded Bay Area new grad market. I dont know how this happened, as a year and a half ago hospitals were going to our school trying to recruit new grads. Good luck to those who haven't taken the exam yet, and congrats to those who have passed.

Saunders Comprehensive Review (NCLEX-RN)
Thanks for the help everyone! I havent used these CDs since a while and just recently been using only exam mode to better simulate the actual test. I think I will be using study mode for now on. It sucks that I have done over 1000 questions in exam mode and will see questions again when I do study mode.

Saunders Comprehensive Review (NCLEX-RN)
Does anyone know best way to minimize repeated questions and maximize the number of unused questions in exam mode? Also does anyone know how many NCLEX style questions the cd contains? I am using the 3rd and 4th edition.

Spending the Benjamins
I probably won't spend much too much so I can save to buy a house, but I would want the latest Dodge Viper when I graduate. I probably won't get either anytime soon after I graduate.

Their was about 8-10 out of 60 were men. So that equals~17%. You shouldn't worry too much about being alone with all those females. You might enjoy it:D

Taking the TEAS Exam
The test wasn't that bad if you study a little. Some schools have timed test and some don't. I took it at a school where it was timed and I had enough time to complete everything except for the math portion. FYI I took the test twice and it was the same one so if you decide to take it again try to memorize questions you had trouble on and study them for the next time you take the test.
