hi susan!
i had just about given up on studying ahead until today. i was given books for two of my nursing classes that start on aug 26 by two students who have completed the classes and now i can get some reading done.
i need to know what every one is doing for the "anxiety attacks"!, if you are having any, regarding getting started with clinicals?
great topic!
nothing, i'm doing nothing, but hidding in a corner pretending that it is not almost time to go back. hehe J/K actually i also just started clearing out places on the shelf, made a school supply list and started making up an order for some new scrubs. now if that !@#$%^& government could just straighten out the entire student loan mess they have me in, i might just be able to attend class in 3 weeks!

the anxiety attacks are getting better...for a while all i had to do to get one was to look at my schedule! i think i am using that energy for housework right now.
i am trying to get the first 7 chapters of reading done that was assigned at orientation...i was already to get into the "nursing stuff" and found out 4 of the chapters were history, law (yuck), ethics and cultural differences....ok but i want to read about assessments and all that good stuff!! oh well --at the pace we go, that will probably be next week!
i think my anxiety level would be a little less if we were given information on what to be studying during our orientation.originally posted by susanrn2004

all the best to you this semester, susan!
I got my shelves cleaned and stacked with all required and some recommended books. They look so nice all neatly placed, I don't want to mess them up (j/k). Got my study area made. Cut my flashcards, reset my palm and added "Nursing" stuff. Got familiar with my books. I'm anxious to get started, however I know the first couple weeks will drag out with the boring stuff.....history, ethnics, etc, etc.... I can't wait until the sh*t hits the fan and we have to bust a** .....I always enjoy a good challenge. This waiting stuff is driving me insane!

OK --some of you started classes this week...how was it?
For those that have not started, what are you doing to get ready?
I am cleaning closets and trying to get the house in order, making room on my bookshelves for those 45 pounds of books (they bend the higher shelves, I had to put them on the bottom), I cut 400 index cards in half for flash cards...(I like small flash cards), saying goodbye to friends and family for the next two years (just kidding)...what about you?
I feel like I have gone back to being 15, not 45! :roll
