Hey I am making this forum for anyone who wants to discuss applying to the Spring 2016 SHSU nursing school!
In the acceptance offer, it said we have until the October 22nd (Thursday) to accept or decline so I feel like the window has passed. I know Sam is somewhat hard to get into because of the small amout of seats to fill. Last semester I only applied to Sam and didn't get in so this time around I applied to pretty much every school that accepts the TEAS V test and got in to most. Most schools have anywhere from 90-120 spots to fill so your chances are a lot better to get in, whereas, Sam only has 20 spots in the woodlands campus and 40 at the main campus. Good luck to those who didn't make it this time around, there's always the fall!
I think there is a big chance I might end up in the same position you were in. Which university did you end up choosing? and why? I don't know to what extend the name of the university will matter after graduation but I tend to feel like since TWU is so highly regarded I SHOULD go there if I have the chance. Sam (woodlands) just feels so much more comfortable because of the shorter commute, but their program is so young still that I don't think it has the same recognition as the TWU program.
Hi, my name is Ashley North and I just moved here to Huntsville from CA with the intention to go to Sam for nursing in the spring. I am a CNA at Huntsville memorial hospital (I've been a CNA for 5 years) and my stats are: 3.34 for pre-nursing core (all completed) and 3.53 core with one class in progress. I have an 82 on the TEAS. What do y'all think my chances are?
Hi Ashbirdnorth! I have an interview with Huntsville Memorial Hospital's RN residency program (in med-surg). How did you like working there?

Hello! I know this is late but since the spring semester started, I'm curious as to if you were accepted and are in the program right now? I'm applying for spring of 2017 and so I'm reading older threads and am curious!!!
