Hey I am making this forum for anyone who wants to discuss applying to the Spring 2016 SHSU nursing school!

Hey!

I was supposed to apply for fall. I was gonna take micro over the summer but I got a D in physiology. I did summer school last summer and took a class over the winter break as well so I thought I should just take a break this summer since I've pretty much been doing school non stop since my freshman year. I need advice...I only have 2 classes left to complete- retake physiology and take micro. However, since I got a D I don't think I can take them at the same time. I am going up to huntsville this Thursday so I may meet with my advisor. If I can't take the classes together then I would have to take 4 hours this fall (phys) and 4 hours in the spring (micro) if I want to stick with nursing...unless I can take a mini over the Christmas break before spring, but I doubt lonestar offers that. I don't want to get a year behind just because of 2 classes. Does anyone know anything...or know what I should do? Right now I'm signed up for history classes because that's what I'd change my major to but I think my heart is still set on nursing. (I'm regretting not taking phys in summer 2 because that would solve my problem and id only be a semester behind, but I have so much going on and it just been complicated. I don't want to sound like I'm taking a break just because. I'm just trying to make sense so Yall can help with advice.) Thanks!

Hello, I am applying to spring 2016! good luck to everyone. I have all prerequisites and ready to go. I have a 3.3 GPA and made a 77 on Teas. I am looking to retake it on July 15.

Im applying. I have a 3.38 gpa and am taking the TEAS August 12. Have any of you taken it? What's it like? Good luck everyone!

I'm applying for Spring 2016 also! I have a 3.9 GPA but haven't taken my TEAS yet. I'm hoping I score well enough to get in.

I got an 86.4 on the Teas 3.38 gpa.... Trying to stay hopeful.

With my 3.9 GPA I'm hoping that an 80-85 TEAS score will be good enough!

Hi everyone!

I am also applying for SHSU. I just submitted my transfer application just now, so hopefully they can get back within 48 hours so I can apply for the nursing program. My gpa for SHSU nursing prereqs is 3.48 (Pre Nursing GPA Calculator) -i calculated using this site. My TEAS score is 73:(( still hoping for a miracle! I currently work at Houston Methodist and TX Orthopedic hospitals as a nurse assistant and I have few recommendation letters from micro professor and work managers. (i don't know if that will help).

I heard that only 20 students get accepted at woodlands location.. so I am really nervous.

Is there any interview or essays for this program?

I am going to apply to UTHSC to start in the summer if I don't get into shsu this spring!
