I started this thread so that we could help each other out and to get ready for nursing school.
Hi there everyone. I just want to wish you all the best of luck and prayers as you venture into the GPC nursing program. I am a former graduate (May 2009) of GPC and wanted to let you know that, yes, it will be quite busy for this first semester but you will make it and you can do this and it does get better. This school prepared me so well for the NCLEX and to becoming an RN and I know that each one of you, by getting into the program itself, have what it takes to become a GPC RN.
Good luck and prayers to each of you and I hope to be meeting you all during the semester. Please message me if you have any questions. I will try my best to help but may just answer back with "You need to speak to someone at the school" as things change each semester.
You are correct, it is not required but highly recommended, especially if you did not take Mrs. C's LINK course.
Mrs. C can be your biggest ally in this program... she can help you study more effectively, give you tools and suggestions to get you more organized, and give you advice on how to handle the stress of it all.
My : Get help from her EARLY, even if you don't feel like you need it. Every suggestion that she gives may not apply to you or help you but if you can incorporate a couple suggestions it can make or break you.
Good Luck Again!
Congratulations to you all for being accepted into GPC's program.
I realllllllly hope to be in your shoes once I finish my prerequisites.
I know you all are crazy busy, but any suggestions on getting into the program would be great.
Best of luck to you all!!!!! What a great achievement!

I highly recommend the Reviews & Rationales book series by Mary Ann Hogan. Use the Fundamentals reviews and rationales for 1921. These books summarizes all the main points of every lecture and have additional nclex style questions to practice. I used this book (the med-surg addition) and never read the textbook in second semester.
