Minneapolis School of Anesthesia Interview

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

Well my interview is 3 days away. Any last minute pearls of wisdom for me? I was also wondering when MSA notified you of acceptance or rejection, any one out there know?

I dont know when you hear back from the program at MSA. I am waiting myself. good luck.

Hey,

How did it go? I am a recent BSN grad from Minneapolis. I want to apply to nurse anesthesia school in 2-3 years.

Can you tell me what the avg. GPA was and years of ICU experience and type of ICU (SICU, MICU, NICU)??? Any advise on how to make my applications stand out??

Thanks!

Good luck on your application. At least a 3.0 GPA is competetive. Higher is better and will improve your odds. All you need is one year of some type of ICU, either CCU, SICU, MICU, NICU. It doesn't matter which one, they just want you to have at least one year of acute inpatient care experience.

To make your application stand out, include your undergraduate milestones, awards, and scholarships. Also any extracurricular involvement. Work experience.

Some kind of certification is huge. ie CCRN, TNCC, etc.

Make sure you have at least a score of 1000 on the GRE if needed.

Good references and recommendations.

That should cover it.

I personally am active duty Air Force and got accepted into the Army Graduate Nurse Anesthesia program. The reason I say this is that some of the requirements are slightly different from program to program.

Best of luck.
